Memphis needs to recruit a kicker that’s for sure. Austin Hardin was better than that guy.

1) very enjoyable watching so many wide open, can't miss pass plays.
2) many individual players snatching the pass on the run (we haven't seen any of that at UF in a long time.
3) yes, I missed seeing great defensive plays & players.
4) If both Norvell & Frost are great HCs/CEOs, how can they not hire an effective DC? There has to be up and coming good defense gurus?
5) speed shows up as speed no matter how minor the school. (they both needed more speed at DB.
6) Frost will make Nebraska a slightly blightless Oklahoma.
7) sadly, Frost will be the best coach Nebraska will ever get and he still won't get them to the playoffs. It's gonna be like having that DNA/Genes test that tells you what diseases you'll get, when you'll die & what from.

I am curious about this: when an HC is the offensive mastermind, what is the mindworkings of the OC? Also, does an OC get after their DC for poor defendings? Does the DC get after the OC for for low scoring. It seems that the potential for getting rightfully razzed would create better internal motivation. Knowing you'll have to apologize and explain your lousy work-product would fuel you to drive your players, more precisely during practices. ??

rodg, to your point 4. Since neither had really made their mark yet, it may have been difficult to get a good DC, even an up and coming one. Plus both were still building. In their position they were only so many good recruits they could convince to come. Build offense first, make a splash, build defense next.

Just my two cents.

WRs are a dime a dozen. Good cover corners and safeties are not. There should be no surprise that mid major schools struggle on defense. Both of these guys will have much better defenses once they're in a P5. How good? No one knows for sure, but it's much easier to get defensive talent at any SEC or Big 10 school than a mid major.
