Of course it matters. And that allows those programs to invest their money in their facilities. This idea that it's embarrassing that we want to upgrade our facilities and pay big money to elite coaches is ridiculous.

It's the price of doing business and when done right it drives a lot of money into the university. More than enough to offset the expenditures and pay for the other sports.

Invest money in the program and you'll make 10 times what you invest.
What's unbelievable is the 3rd highest paid AD in the country can't see that. Anyone that runs any kind of business knows that you have to spend money to make money!

It costs us 45-50$ mil each year we are not on par with Bama. Our income during Urbies time was $148 mil and that was before the SEC network. Then it dropped to the mid nineties or less....
So, really, we were making 150 million a decade ago before the 20-24 mil in SECN money, so we should now be in the 170 million range, at least, with the SEC Network money. LOVE THAT FOOLEY.

At least he loves the direction of the program.

Does anyone else get paid so much for being such a total fvkkup?

Yeah Vandy actually has NO AD. They got rid of that like a decade ago and just let the President perform the duties.

:what:
During the periods covered by Vanderbilt's new return and its prior return, Williams was vice chancellor for university affairs and athletics; general counsel and university secretary for Vanderbilt and its medical center; and a tenured law professor. As of July 2012, Williams' title changed to vice chancellor for athletics and university affairs and athletics director; he no longer had the roles of general counsel and university secretary, but he remains a tenured law professor.
