The 10 point loss to Texas wasn't a trouncing. Bama was within 3 points in the middle of the 4th quarter, gave up the TD to make the deficit 10 points. The game was really a LOT closer than most want to imply. They struggled against S. Florida and that was a 14 point win? Why is a 10 point loss a trouncing but a 14 point win a struggle?
Oh, because of expectations and nothing else.

Also they started a different qb vs USF.. a USF team that was vastly better than the team it was the previous year.

He is the biggest cry baby there is. He has been beating the SEC bias drum for 10 years. Always quick to point out conf vs conf record when SEC is on the losing side but when we trounce everybody he can't be found.

Was at dinner last week with the parents of a Liberty student. They were quite excited about the football program. Looking forward to their game with Oregon, though I doubt they come out on top. They played some decent teams this season, but no team with the quality OL/DL and general depth and talent of an Oregon.

Not exactly. Though fsu won their conference, it is clear to the committee they are not a top 4 team. Bama could not ascend beyond 8 until teams ahead of them lost. That's just how it was. But they won the SECCG against the #1 ranked team. They simply lost their first game of the season against one of the other playoff teams. No shame in that. What quality win does fsu have? I think the committee could have chosen any 1 loss team over fsu and it would have been correct based on opponents played and record of opponents(SOS). Beyond that, every season, a team that is eventually ranked 1 or 2 or top 4 had to escape a close game with a narrow win. It happens every season. I just don't think fsu was cheated. A victim of their own easy schedule, maybe.
