From what I've seen lately regarding DM's knowledge of college football, the only SEC team to lose will be TenRC. As it should be.

Hope Sean Kelley is better this year. MUCH BETTER. No Mick Hubert vibe yet,....if ever. He wasn't that great last year. Still not homer enough and still carrying that ESPN s*** on dealing with other teams.

In a statistics based analysis, The Athletic ranked Mertz 23rd in the country and 8th in the SEC. That seems a lot more realistic than so many reports of his utter awfulness. Plus, the stat they used is a success rate statistic. The top two guys, which Rising was second, have a success rate of 50.3% and 50.2%. Mertz they have at 46.3%.

https://theathletic.com/4816449/2023/08/30/college-football-quarterback-rankings-stats/

Here is how he measures his metric with a link to more info:

"I define success rate as the percentage of plays that generated positive Expected Points Added (EPA), which I’ve also adjusted for down and distance and strength of the opposing defense. For those unfamiliar with the concept of EPA, a helpful analytics primer can be found here."

Less than an hour to go. Super excited to see what this 2023 team is going to look like. Let's beat Utah and get this train back on track.

GO GATORS!!!!

We are coming out aggressive on defense, the DC and the players. Can we keep them from taking advantage of that by playing under control. Recent history says no but, this is a new era and can start now by playing the type of defense we were known for, before ever winning a damn thing.
