Pat Forde: Dan Mullen to re-unite w/ Dak Prescott as Cowboys coach?

With Lincoln Riley's name in NFL's mouth, which other college football coaches could make the jump?

Dan Mullen (35). If Browns fans think Riley is the guy to move up and reunite with his star college QB, why not Mullen and Dak Prescott in Dallas? The Cowboys fired their offensive line coach Monday, and head coach Jason Garrett might be next. Mullen is in his first year at Florida and seemingly wouldn’t be looking to leave after finally getting to be head coach at an elite program — but if the Cowboys called and offered him the chance to work again with Prescott, why wouldn’t he consider it?

That's some funny schit… you knew garret was on his last legs when he did the coaching turnover and including Nuss to the offensive staff.

Wait ... I thought he wasn't elite but now writers are talking about him as someone the NFL will go after?

I know ... its a stupid article in fantasy land ... but so is the elite/not elite argument.

So you think an elite college coach would just go to being a quarterbacks coach... before you type, think about your argument.

The funny thing is that Pat Forde wrote an article in mid-September about new coaching hires being busts....and Mullen was on the list (after the Kentucky loss).

Nope. Just responding to the level of the argument. You still scrolling google for MSU 80s and 90s performances to mine some meaningless data?

Ok ... on topic of THIS thread ... where in that article does it say he would be a quarterbacks coach? I might have missed it and will admit if I did, but it talks about how they already fired their OC and Garrett is probably next. Sounds to me they are talking about HC not positional coach.

Again ... its a fluff piece with no real foundation of truth ... so not worth really getting into a hissy over.

No one is hissying… Jerry Jones should just name himself head coach.

Exactly ... but, like drudging through 80-90 MSU team performances, a Pat Forde fluff piece really isn't anything to build an argument on. Besides, 'Elite' is reserved for judgement years down the road after a body of work has been completed. Getting somebody elite is not the norm. This is what I have problem with this generation ... they use words like elite as if it is a normal thing.
