During Wambach's freshman season in 1998, the Gators reached the NCAA title game against North Carolina, which had won back-to-back championships and 14 of the previous 16. Burleigh was just 31 at the time, and, as she watched her team take a 1-0 lead late into the match, she began gearing herself up for the final TV timeout. As the players ran off the field and huddled around her, she knew this would be one of the defining moments of her career.
Then, just when Burleigh was about to speak, Wambach stepped into the middle of the huddle and yelled, "We are not f---ing losing to these bitches!"
It wasn't exactly the speech Burleigh had planned, but there was nothing else to say. "OK then," she told her players. "Let's go!" And with that, they ran back onto the field, hooting and hollering, and eventually winning the national title, the program's only one to date.

Our ladies should come out in German uniforms before the France game. France will forfeit without even playing and we'll be onto the semifinals!

I guess Alex Morgan is my favorite now but it's not like the Mia Hamm teams when so many girls were likeable . Also the lesbian aspect forced down our throats the last several years by this team and women's sports in general has been a real turn off for me .
I was crushed when the US Women's team choke the World Cup away in 2011 to Japan. I really like their teams since the beginning. The 2015 team I wasn't as fond of because all the political bull**** was starting to come to the fore and now it's off the charts. Well I'm still rooting for them to win I won't exactly be crestfallen if they lose. They have a lot of good players on this team but no great players. The coach it's mediocre to say the least. They are not a sure thing to win even with so few good teams out there in womenspirit world Cup.
I just wish Megan Rapinoe understood that she represents America not the president of the United States of America and that she and her teammates play for us and not him. But she can't and keeps running her goddamn mouth making my experience watching her and this team not as enjoyable as it should be.
