I went to the humane society looking for a dog for my soon to be 5yr old about 5 years ago. Every dog was some form of pit or American bulldog. Every single one.

Well, were you looking for puppies?
Because, had you gotten a dog from the pound, 5 yrs ago, it'd be dead by now and your 5 yo son (now 10) would be dragging around good ole "Rigormortis" by now.
