AD should have called team together, sent a rep, said McElwain no longer w team, assigned interim and said we will tell you more later at your normal monday meeting whatever.

So it's Stricklin's incompetence, not Mac's.

Of course that is what should have happened, but you have to understand we have ZERO leadership over there. There is no process for anything. How many times do I have to tell you people they can't tie their own shoelaces over there?

You just cannot control messaging with social media anymore. Someone will post or txt from a meeting or a staff member outside the door will do the same. Do you tell the coaches first? Someone will post on facebook/tweet or txt and it is out. You would have to have simultaneous meetings with communication between them in case something goes wrong with the termination.

Sad but true

It is really, but I'm very much willing to overlook at given how quickly he's moved on this to the surprise of some including me.

Agreed...a lot on Stricklin's plate right now and all of Gator Nation and SEC are enquiring minds.

An equally terrible move by McElwain. Right before a massive game, after a week of them coming out and telling the world that they've got your back, you inform them that it may all be moot and you're likely out. Just incredible how bad he is at this.

EXACTLY!!!

This move was as dumb as the death threat comment.
Under the guise of caring about the players and wanting to keep them informed, what he actually did was guarantee that we had no chance to win an already difficult game.
One last shot at all of us. Good riddance A$$hole!

I am okay with the way things have transpired.
1. The players knew this was coming and for them to say anything different forces me to believe that they took an integrity class taught by Mac.
2. Stricklin owes them no notice or explanation until shortly before they conduct a formal press conference.

Tell the players to continue to do whatever dysfunctional things the coaching staff would typically have them doing on a Sunday and the AD will get back to you when it is official.

Special note to LDR: STFU you entitled snowflake!!!

Sunday is typically meetings of coaches, review films, as they prepare the game plan and install forthe next opponent. Players usually have the day off and might be off campus even anyway.

Some places might have players getting grades and like from the last game and reviewing film.

This...there's no way to get ahead of it with social media and 24 hour coverage.

Looks like it'll be at 5:30 when they usually do team dinner.

What did they expect. They are all on twitter so much they would have scene it before he could walk down the hall with how it works these days.

Unbelievable! Everybody involved must be punished immediately. Public hanging is to good for them.

Dear Team,
It was the fans that had your back after all. Remember that, long after you and any coach are gone, it's the University culture and alums that carry on.

Pretty much, that's your coach, LDR, Allen. But also according to Pat Dooley Mac told the team at the pre game meal about the meeting with Stiklin that there was not contact with Jimmy Sexton.
Didn't Stricklin say in the presser tonight, that his first contact with Sexton was this morning?

Stricklin met with team today with Shannon and told them Mac was out. Negotiated severance contract will be signed Monday. I believe he said it was agreed on in principle. Mac may meet with team then. We'll see.
