We have really only had a functioning offense twice (2007 and 2008) since 2001.

News flash! This guy isn't our biggest problem.

I think he is a big one however and it may really show itself next season with the recruiting not getting the job done.

I was hoping someone would make him a HC not knowing the real deal and just looking at stats but after the FSU and Bama games they might be scared off.

Quinn, Strong and Stoops as DC couldn't change our W-L record. The O keeps the D on the field for 45 minutes per game.

The only game the defense had a fatigue/too many plays excuse in our losses was Arkansas and they were getting handled in the trenches some early in that game also. I agree the offense is by far the biggest issue however.

And to think, fans were frustrated with the 2009 offense...
Hell, an 80th ranked offense would be a drastic improvement now.

I think we were 100+ in redzone that year too. It was the beginning of our neverending shytfest.

Yes, and Appleby had his best game. That's his Apex game. I'm still mad that neither Frosh or both were wasted

I agree. I don't see the defense as the problem. I thought all of them played well in the pinch. After the dumpster fires started by the QB;s and offense every game, they end of sick and TIRED, and did I forget injured.

Not saying that the outcome would have been different, but the turning of this game rests solely on the responsibility of Appleby. That's the reason that he didn't cut it at Purdue. Add insult to injury our staff would not bench him. The D was playing well enough to hang with them. Appleby has to own this, period. It wasn't much time but he did have time and WR's running open. He's a dime store product playing on a high dollar stage.

Our defense has played like crap in the trenches in 3 of our 4 biggest games this year and against the 3 of the 4 best offenses they faced. And the crappy play started when the games were still competitive and winnable. I don't give them some blanket excuse like a lot of people do when they weren't on the field a ton when those collapses began in all 3 of those games where Tenn, FSU and Bama manhandled them. Arkansas did so also but that is the only game they have the fatigue excuse for much of it. This defense is good but far from elite and padded its numbers against the cupcakes and only delivered in the LSU game with our good opponents keeping them out of the endzone.

Speaking of State of Affairs...

After the loss to Bama last night we finished the season 115/128 in Total Offense, 127/128 in Red Zone Offense, 113/128 in Rushing Offense, 84/128 in Passing Offense and 110/128 in Scoring Offense. We finished 6/128 in Total Defense. Changes must be made to the offense.
