Only five reasons to ever set foot in California ever again:

1. Reagan Library
2. Nixon Library
3. Take in game at Dodger Stadium, although I despise them, the history oozes.
4. Take in game at Rose Bowl, even if UCLA home game.
5. Take in game at LA Coliseum, even if USC home game.

The last thing I want to do is go see a bunch of ****** cocksuckers taking a **** off the side of a cable car.

If I ever get to drive cross country again in my lifetime, I'd love to avoid interstate highways completely and take back roads and see what's left of real America out there.

I'd rather take the trip that Kirsten Dunst put together for Orlando Bloom in Elizabethtown.

To be fair, I actually agree with @Bernardo de la Paz here. My general experience has been that most of the time the things that you must see are the least impressive. I much prefer getting a feel for an area as opposed to just doing the obvious tourist traps. The first time I took my family to New York, that’s what we did. Having spent so much time there, I wanted to avoid those types of things. We briefly walked through Times Square and saw the Empire State Building from the outside. Also my wife wanted to the see the Brooklyn Bridge and SoL, so I scheduled our return flight out of JFK. The last day I paid the car service a few extra dollars to take us south from Midtown over the Brooklyn Bridge and said, “hey kids, that’s the Statue of Liberty in the distance”.

Yes, that was the entire point of my mentioning the trip in Elizabethtown.

Yeah, I was agreeing with you. And then expounded, despite not being asked to.

I agree with your sentiment completely.

Having already done 4 of those 5 things you have validated my belief that I have absolutely no reason whatsoever to step foot in California again.

We should plan out a GCMB recommended road trip of sh!ttyness.

All the stops are overrated, underwhelming, and disappointing tourist traps.

I’ll start with…Daytona Beach.

Alex.
