Of course they can fire him, now it they try for cause they might have legal issues. I would think that a partial buy out would be best, but who knows they might want to keep him for another year or so.

This makes sense. I never believed gators would simply pay him out it’s too much money. Fire for cause, let him sue and negotiate down it’s a best case scenario.

Sources told ESPN that they believe the university has enough cause to fire McElwain without having to pay his buyout.

As for Fooley's puppet, if he thinks anyone was buying his BS statement, he is dumber than I thought. Way too many stories in print for it not to have been true. I would fire all 5000 of them over there and start over. We have no knowledgable people!!!!!

In my line of work it’s really hard to terminate For Cause even if you have a good reason.
It’s that way everywhere these days, but you still can’t allow incompetence to run your business.
