WOW...he's the gold standard. Grew up with him and he will be missed. He always seemed like a Gator fan to me.

I remember him calling Gator fans classy when we chanted "Jake, Jake, Jake..." for the kid that lost his eyes. Lots of shared saturday mornings with him.

I quit watching Game Day years ago. This will not encourage me to tune in ever again. Fowler has always been my favorite. How they keep Corso, Herbstreit and Howard is beyond me. Rece is fine, but holy hell, the other guys are MUCH worse than Fowler. Maybe he just wanted out.

Fowler signed a new contract with ESPN through 2023 last year. Looks like ESPN picked Davis over Fowler. Davis' contract was up and to keep him it was Gameday. Ouch.

Fowler's an institution at ESPN, man wears so many different hats for them. Kudos to him for deciding to scale it back a bit. The show will never be the same, but Rece Davis is a very competent replacement. Either way, Gameday still sucks as a show and will continue to suck until they get rid of Desmond Howard and politely ask Lee Corso to retire.
