Ok so what if the story was different as to why? What if he wanted out cause he sent it in and was gonna tell everyone he was lied to? Or that Kirby was a real pos...bring him in we need that kind of talent 5⭐️s don’t grow on trees in Gainesville these days
He fought his coach. No thanks

Borderline?
I'm as greedy for 5* talent as the next guy, but we had the off-season from hell last year due largely to the presence of one malignant turd and one simpering little momma's boy. No "Hurray for ME, and to hell with the TEAM" types need apply. And yes, Lingard is a former 5* and Gibbs would be a great addition as well. But all this is moot anyway, because this kid has "Jimbo Special" stamped on his forehead. If he doesn't land in Jimboville or Red Stick, I'll be astounded.

Not sure what you’re referencing; I was referring to @Bait'n Gator saying AH was a borderline serial killer.

With regards to Evans, maybe I’ve grown soft in my old age, but outside of him being incarcerated, I’m a little hesitant to deem a 17/18 year old a lost cause beyond any hope. One thing to consider is that 99% of the time these character cases are dealt with privately and the school just quietly backs away from the recruit, and therefore the recruit is unscathed in the whole process. This is different. Maybe having his school of choice publicly saying “no thanks” after he signed will send a message and get the kid’s head on straight. If by chance he truly wants to be here, I’d be fine with giving him a shot and a clearly defined leash of behavior and work ethic.

We’re likely to see a defection or two at RB so it shouldn’t impact anyone else’s decision either as both Pierce and Lingard would be draft eligible after next season.

If nothing else, in addition to the obvious talent, you’d have someone who’d want nothing more than to bury the aforementioned school on an annual basis. I’m good with taking that calculated risk.

Exactly.

And this is the type of case where we really have to trust the coaches, unless they've shown a track record of dismal judgement on such things. They probably know more of the story than has been circulated in public, have met the kid, can see how he reacts to being told there will be various expectations, have a better idea of what level of mentoring and help a kid might get from team leaders, etc.

Lots of kids with various issues at 16 or 17 turn out to be great people 3 to 10 to 20 years later, especially if someone cares along the way.

Thank goodness.

I'd prefer not to have serial killers, but I'd love to have some of this kind of attitude back.

Very well put. My thoughts on the situation almost to a tee. Just missed adding his 5* status for those that are on the fence.
