Outside of MLB Mullen is recruiting solid complete classes.

We went two years without signing a safety, two years w out signing a DT, and signed 1 ILB in three years. Those are all going to hurt us very soon.

I didnt actually see their list for atm but bc we are about as low as possible on points, while still taking some 4*, Im c onfident in saying yes.

I already have. His object is not to engage in reasonable, fact-based debate - or even some form of recreational verbal slap fight. The underlying purpose behind all the insane bullschytt seems to be the need to draw attention to himself while being as frustratingly contentious as possible. I learned some time ago that there is no end to the incessant blithering and tantrum throwing, and I have simply lost interest.

Youre not wrong about recreational verbal slap fight, but I'm just the counterweight to all the people claiming a number seven class is the best in history.

It's a mediocre class by UF standards, better Butters and better than the last two years, but not something to pretend to be incredible just because Dorky Dan finally landed a 5 star after only three years.

I'm looking at Rivals rankings. A&M and UF have the same number of recruits (24), and UF has a much higher average star rating (3.71 to 3.5) yet A&M has a MUCH bigger number of points (2601 to 2384) and hence is ranked higher. WTF?

I wondered the same thing. Years ago, one of the recruiting services dinged your score if you lacked either a QB or a RB, but I didn't think that it was rivals.

I wondered the same thing. Years ago, one of the recruiting services dinged your score if you lacked either a QB or a RB, but I didn't think that it was rivals.

I think it was rivals. at one point at tight end, fullback, or a punter weighed less than a quarterback or wide receiver.

I still do that to an extent but they just change the Stars. the best punter is probably still going to be a 2-star the best tight end of four Star if he's a pass-catcher.

I think they overrate the top 150 players. are those guys really worth six or eight 5.8 players? probably not but it's a recognition that the Tebows, Spikes and Harvins are ones that changed the game.

They misrank people too, like Braun, or Ethan White, that some of us including the Georgia and Florida coaching staff, saw as elite players.

they're far from perfect. they're just far better than 247 or other options.

There are points assigned for things like top 150 and also things like 6.0 (high 4*) worth more than 5.8 (borderline 4*/3*).

Almost all our 4* are borderline guys.

They must not factor in the entire class. Our class member avg rating is higher (5.775 vs. 5.5). Do you have any idea what they calculate? Top 20 maybe?

There is a limit. maybe just top 20. back when people with signing 30 or 35 kids they installed that. I m sure it is in that link. Plus they give extra points for top 150, also in that link.

I doubt the math is correct on 5.5. That is like a 2.5 star average.

It's actually 5.55. The number is skewed by the fact they have an unrated player. Take him out of the equation and it's a 5.79! Quite a difference.
