Grimes, Toney, Copeland and Carter skip for what is reported to be reasons ranging from Covid to BLM to pay demands according to the article.

I saw this in another discussion above (after posting), but decided to make it's own thread as this could get interesting...or not.

If someone claims a justifiable health reason to opt out, fine, call it a medical redshirt even.

Anyone else, threaten to pull the scholarship. If that doesn't work then actually pull it and call it a day.

Copeland hasn't been kicked off the team yet? I would think calling the head coach a racist would be a problem.

The fact that Mullen acts like it's nothing is exactly why I have a hard time envisioning him every winning big. You think Bama players would call Saban a racist? Hell nah they would be in the portal within an hour.

Aren't these the same guys that were ranting on social media? And now they don't show up for practice?
Nothing to see here.

Did he say that somewhere? I’m not saying that he didn’t do it. I just don’t see where he called Mullen a racist.

someone tweeted back at him while on a rant about racist coaches, asking him if Mullen was racist and he responded, "what do you think?"

POS.

Big red flag. After reading Copeland's BLM-inspired comments he be needin a one-way back to da hood. The other 3 need an explanation from Mullen of the Gator standard vs a bus ticket.

Fuchs em, next man up.

Toney and Copeland sitting out may be one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. They have zero chance getting to the nfl right now. Sad to see such a waste of God given talent and a scholarship.

Say what you want about Clemson's quarterback, but I'm impressed with her #WeWantToPlay movement and so it saddens me that Florida has 4 players pulling this BS.

I would not address their antics and would play the next man up...move forward without them until they realize they're only hurting themselves. You want the limelight? Then deal with the heat that bulb casts.

Fully agree. I find it interesting that both he and Fields--perhaps the two players that have the least to gain from playing a down this year, and who could both go straight into the draft tomorrow--are rallying their programs and conferences to play. And not just "because". Lawrence even uses very sound logic in his push. It's refreshing to see from both of them, and really puts some of this other talk into perspective.

It’s because they’re both leaders for their teams, and they have sacks that our four sitting out couldn’t possibly have, even collectively as a group.

They started to pull this crap when the Pac-12 was making demands about 50% revenue.....that kind of lost steam when they just canceled the whole season. Why they are still holding out if baffling but I'm sure we will soon find out repercussions

Ugh, I forgot about the Pac-12 players pulling that crap. It's very typical of youth today, they want, want and want without thinking about where it's coming from.

If a player wants to sit out then remove them from team meals, team physical therapy, team meds and supplements, team swag hand-outs, team facilities in general and pull back that stipend they were given, maybe remove that scholarship and charge them for books, classes, etc.

Oh, and if they want to cancel the season and not play then where in Hades is all this money going to come from that pays them their stipend and all the other things I've already listed? They really do NOT think through this process very well and are only concerned for how it directly affects them today. Me, me, me, me. They sound like their running scales in preparations for the opera.
