Time for you all to accept that politics and sports are intertwined. Believe it or not it’s ok to like someone (or root for a sports team of someones) who have a different political ideology than you. I know you all would love politics in sports if the athletes were wearing pro-life or 2nd amendment patches.
To give up watching sports just because you can’t accept that the black athletes won’t “shut up and dribble” is ridiculous. I’ll enjoy my choice to watch the best athletes compete, and you can enjoy your choice to watch Rocky V for the tenth time on your Sunday afternoon.

It seems like a third of the guys in the league these days are from Russia, the Balkans, or an old Soviet state. I’d love to get their take on how terrible law enforcement is here. Everyone knows in Bosnia or Belarus, when you resist arrest, they give you an encouraging talk and a smoked salmon.

Problem is things like today when the games cancelled. They are actually helping Trump more and more are sick of politics in sports I'm hoping it goes away if Trump wins big maybe they'll realize their voice isn't majority.

Much like teachers in the classroom, these entitled pricks will find that the general public that has been funding their lifestyles for years no longer need them, and what that ultimately means.

Yet these guys have ZERO problem taking money from China, a country that literally is putting people in camps as we speak.
And are singlehandedly responsible for the virus that has them playing in the “bubble” in the first place.

The mental gymnastics that scumbags like LeFlop do to justify the things they say and do is breathtaking.

I don't GAF what the ideology of entertainers are. However, I don't want it rubbed in my face while they are entertaining me. I'll find something better to do with my time.

I hope the once-great NBA goes completely down in flames. Perhaps it could just be a Chinese league. Let them all move over there and play in that utopia.

Is this decision going to affect change? Probably not. I can see why Bucks cancelled, but other teams it was more about being a follower than leader.
I do agree with the poster saying it would be good idea for more athletes to donate their time/money toward healing the police/community divide.

Sports, whether it be professional, collegiate, or little league, are supposed to be an escape from the day in and day out grind of our daily lives.

It’s bad enough that you can’t turn on any kind of steaming service, cable tv channel, or a movie without some kind of political statement being made.

As a true independent who happens to think the liberal loons are doing more harm than they are good for the downtrodden, I want ZERO of this shyt at my games, DUMS, PUBS, INDIES. I don;t want any religion either. If the fkking Christian coalition was there talking about pro life and everyone had JESUS SAVES on their jerseys, I would turn it the fkk off.

But you are correct you and any one else is welcomed to watch and I promise not to try and get you to change your mind. All I ask from the masses is the same treatment in return.

These athletes are being paid by team ownership and are, for the most part, salaried employees.
I cannot do this type of thing at my place of employment (e.g. advocate for a political cause, wear politically charged clothing, post any political messages, etc.).

So how is it that these "employees" of the NBA, MLB, NFL, etc are allowed to do this?
If the team ownership is in agreement with this type of behavior, then ok, fine, it's allowed.
But I don't have to watch it either.

But that's just it. They're not. They're holding you hostage because some people decide they don't want to follow instructions. And you have an NBA guy on ESPN reporting the situation while wearing a "All We Did Was Be Black" shirt, which is blatantly false and an affront to anyone who has eyes and has watched these videos. So in the process, they're also lying to you. If some choose not to be ok with that, I'm not sure how anyone has a problem with it or somehow feels their decision is ridiculous.

Also, there was no Rocky V. Anything beyond the rematch with Lang(and even that one is debatable) is a slap in the face to the originals and should be pulled from shelves, with stern punishment assigned for anyone owning and/or playing it.

Show me some balls guys and protest all the little black kids murdered in Chicago by other black people every year who never get a chance at life. We all know what happened to George Floyd was horrible. And that cop who was arrested should be charged to the maximum for the state of Minnesota. But when these players start to stand up for the thousands and thousands of blacks were murdered in America every year by other blacks I will be impressed then and only then..
i can’t agree more with this.

It’s easy to place blame outward, and these murderous cops deserve plenty of blame. However, if you remove the crime and violence plaguing these inner city area, maybe the economic situation in the inner cities will improve and there will be more opportunity to better yourself.

Also, there will be less police involvement and less opportunity for police violence.

I can't imagine what it's like being a cop these days I'm a how many have been murdered since George Floyd by the peaceful protesters? 14 15 16? A lot of this is coming from the NDA and the rap stars and it's about the orange man in office.

How many blacks were killed by the cops when Obama was in office for 8 years and how many black children were murdered in Chicago in Obama's 8 years as president and he never said a goddamn thing? All killings are tragic including the police shootings of black men butt I would you like to be a cop these days?

Your point about how if the inner city economy gets stronger and it was starting to under Trump until the China flu hit then they will be a lot less crime and police involvement. It's unbelievable what is going on with the rioting and protesting and these last two black men killed by the cops their families are pleading not to burn not to loot not to kill others to know God damn axial. Why because this is their chance to get back at the white man like me and the orange man in the White House. Tragic. When will LeBron James and that whole crew start talkin about the black children murdered in Chicago by other black people I will be all on board but I can't be now because I know it's a political Ploy only. And Trump has done Criminal Justice Reform with the first step act and an executive order for an independent party to look at police who have been written up like the idiot cop in Minnesota never should have been on the force. Obama had 8 years why didn't he do these things?

What is this NBA you speak of?

Oh, it’s this lovely game where the object is to take a round ball and place it into a basket placed 10 feet high in the air. Of course, that’s easier for some players who have decided inherent advantages(born taller, faster, stronger), but no one complains and it’s still considered a level playing field, because after all, theoretically there’s nothing that prevents others like you and I who were not born with said advantages, from succeeding at it.

Anyway, the object is to accumulate points via these baskets, while playing within a well documented set of rules. Of course, if and when you break one of those rules, referees show up to inform you of your error. Generally, whether one agrees or not, and while certainly not happy with this decision, the offender concedes and accepts the consequence. Occasionally there’s more resistance involved, and in extreme cases, the player must be removed from the game and face even greater punishment, which was entirely avoidable.

You should try watching sometime.
