Yeah right. He's fat like a football player is fat.He just looks fat to me
If he uses PED's? Will Grier should have played golf. All this drivel about his science and brains. All I see is a bulked up dude who whacks the ball as hard as he can. The closest thing I see to physics is in his putting. He understands that the stability of a pendulum requires a solid support so we renders his body rigid and allows his arms to swing freely.
Sergio Garcia says hold my beer BrysonI'm not impressed. Not the game I love watching...he takes way too much time analyzing each shot and should be be penalized IMHO. He's a freakin freak...and looks like it when he plays...but what the hell do I know?
IDK. A lot of speculation Tiger was back in the day. I don’t think they do because it’s a gentleman’s game.I’m guessing they get tested but who knows.
Great post and great points. Your first one about the manicured traps--I agree 100%. At the tour level, I'd love to see them say 'screw it' on ANY manicuring--just let the mounds build up naturally--divots, water ponding, no raking, etc,....to the point where you have the trap look like an oversized inverted golf ball--huge dimples and all. You land in one of the 'valleys' you might have a good lie and can play the shot fairly well. Land in one of the deep, thick mounds and you ball might be darn near buried but you still have to play where it lies. That would make them think twice about aiming for a trap. The point about the sand traps is a really good one. They totally aim for these things because they can get out of them so easily. I don’t know what the fix is for these days, but somehow it needs to get back to where hitting into a sand trap makes it difficult to par the hole. I don’t know if they need to water the sand a little bit so it’s heavy or what, but these guys are so accurate out of the sand they aren’t just trying to get up and down half the time, they’re trying to hole it. I damn sure know that the bunkers on my course aren’t even remotely easy to hit out of because the sand is so unpredictable. Maybe all that’s required is for them to stop manicuring the sand traps.
The courses I really enjoy playing are the ones where you have to work the ball off the tee. If the dog leg is 300 yards away, all you have to do is bomb it straight down the middle to the corner and you’ll be fine for your next shot. But if the dog leg is only 200 yards off the tee, then you have to work it one way or the other or you have to lay back. Maybe another idea for some of these courses on the PGA tour is to create artificial hazards on the sides of some fairways. At my home course we have hazards where even if you could hit your ball where it lies, you’re not allowed to because it’s “environmentally sensitive.” So you have to go pick that ball up, take a one stroke penalty, and move it back into play. Seems to me the pros could do a similar thing by simply drawing a red line off to the side of the fairway, and if you go over that line you gotta take a penalty.
Pot bunkers aren’t aesthetically pleasing so you won’t see them implemented on US courses. They could also start by digging deep and making the bunkers really nasty. Think British pot bunkers. Bunkers now are a joke.

True. That was kind of a metaphor for make 'em deep and nasty. I wouldn't mind seeing one about 320 yards out and an OB on the other side of the fairway. It would be glorious, and scare the crap of them. Make 'em think. The average or above average guy wouldn't even worry about them.Pot bunkers aren’t aesthetically pleasing so you won’t see them implemented on US courses.

Dial back the new equipment. Dial back the balls. At some point courses will have no room to get longer.
