In the process of baking a cream cheese pound cake in my wife's honor. I will post a picture later if it turns out okay. :)

Never heard of a cream cheese pound cake but willing to try it!
Made a big mistake the other night by grabbing wax paper in stead of parchment and it melted right into the baked bread. :headslap:

A very smooth pound cake,, finer texture than a sour cream pound cake.

Cream Cheese Pound Cake

Ingredients :
1 1/2 cups butter, softened (3 sticks)
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
3 cups sugar
6 large eggs, room temp
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/8 teaspoon salt

Steps:
Preheat oven to 300°F.
Use an electric mixer to mix both butter and cream cheese until creamy.
Gradually add sugar and beat for 5 minutes, then add eggs one at a time, allowing each to incorporate before adding more. Stir in vanilla.
Sift flour and salt and add gradually to the mixer, beating until well blended.
Pour batter into a well greased and floured bundt pan or tube cake pan.
Place 2 cups water in an ovenproof container on the rack in the oven next to the cake.
Bake cake at 300 for an hour and 45 minutes, or until a toothpick can be removed cleanly.
Place pan on a wire rack and cool for 15 minutes, then remove the cake from the pan and complete cooling on the wire rack.

Thanks! I'll start softening the butter and cream cheese now. Worth a try.

My wife always put her batter in a cold oven but I preheat my oven.

Is that really an hour and 45 minutes? (edit - it probably is right at only 300)
Do the eggs need to be room temp too?

Yours looks perfect! I wasn’t brave enough to take mine off the pan and just cut around it!

The family approves - thanks!

Nice looking cake, people around here will nearly fight over a crust like that.

Just got back from our annual trip to Marco Island...they have some awesome fish markets there. Unfortunately I only took one pick of the Black Grouper but we ate well the whole trip
