ULL qb was horrible he made a system work around what he got. If we lose the kid so be it we are building a championship program either he can be apart of it or not.

This smacks of Napier not wanting anyone around who had anything to do with Mullen. I understand wanting everyone rowing in the same direction, but I don't want UF's program burned to the ground. I fear a huge number of transfers too.

Napier was in year 4, that was his guy... so what is the real excuse then?

Every single Gator board I've looked at is reeling right now. This isn't unique to GCMB. He's not building anything. He's actively setting us back 3-4 years and then will ask us to be patient because of a talent deficiency. This is WM 2011, Strong at Texas, Rodriguez at Mich all over again. It doesn't work. It's never worked.

If you were a WR and committed to your family's school, but the school hired a new coach whose offense was 89th and 80th in passing yards and 95th and 98th in pass attempts the last two years, would you just go ahead and sign or would you evaluate your situtation?

I certainly get that but the way they all mention Mullen and BG doesn’t sit right with me. Are the decommits from OU, LSU and ND mentioning the old coaches and staff in their announcements? I honestly don’t know. Anyway, hate to lose anyone but if they aren’t bought in with the new staff it’s better not to waste a scholly on them now, only to lose them in the Portal later..

Strong at Texas is the direct analogy.

i'll play contrarian to the current dumper recruiting mood right now. I honestly dont care who we sign between now and Feb, or if we sign no one.

The truth is anyone mullen and dwagthem wanted was probably garbage anyway. Point me to some recruits they chased that turned out to be anything other than blah. And dont say AR as Dan did his best to run him off, then kept in on the bench after he signed in spite of Dan.

If evers was mullens guy, then dollars to donuts he would have sucked out loud. Clean house, dont care. While he's at it, he ought to have the entire front office deloused.

This. And as I said, the old days concern of being saddled with the wrong kids is over. The portal is just as much an advantage for the programs as it is the athletes because you can encourage a move. Don't spiral out of control just for the sake of spiraling out of control. This makes no sense, and is exactly the type of thing that gets coaches fired. Can't wait until year 3 when he uses depth concerns as the excuse of why we're not playing well.
What's going on is pretty drastic and pretty crazy. And you may very well be correct . I don't understand it either. But it all kinda seems intentional. I'd say let this play out before we make up our minds. We don't know what's going on behind the scenes.

And the portal makes it really really important that you play a style of offense that attracts the kind of skill players the state of Florida produces. Spiraling out of control might also make players reluctant to transfer in.

I have got to believe...Napier get's a a few unexpected recruits.

There are a lot of opportunities and these kids want playing time

Mullen was an arrogant DOLT...Grantham was even worse.

Does anyone remember Nord?...Good Lord what were people thinking.

Just think what this crew could have done with Trask and no Grantham?

I think these kids will see it also.

It will all work itself out. You guys haven't seen a winning program in 12 years it's understandable to be scared.

Agreed. It’s a long way from pedestrian to horrible.

Considering his competition and the fact he could not do anything against Texas he was "very pedestrian" as a qb. All I'm saying is he took a middle of the pack qb for that conference and made his system work imagine what he could do with someone like AR-15 potential or even Emory.

Maybe Evers is a pocket QB and doesn't want or can't run well which makes him not wanted by the new coaching staff. I know from watching ULL that they like a mobile QB and he may not fit that mold. He could be more like Trask or Franks and running is something he does only if he has to.

Not saying Evers is a Trask (frankly don't know), but if Napier has access to "Trask" and passes on him, that would be red flag for me. Would be similar to Mullen passing on Coral.
