Agree, Salt. That was actually my bigger frustration. Top 50 kid, in Florida, reaffirmed his commitment after Mullen and apparently some type of UF family legacy. I get that QB's can have different systems and specialties. But elite WRs fit in every single system outside of Army. If what is being reported about not being contacted is correct, that's completely inexcusable.

I will say on Evers, the red flag was the parental involvement. Ms. White(Ethan's mother) is a great example of being supportive, helpful and pro-Gator without coming across as a potential problem. The tweet a few months ago about recruits "chasing the P in the club" was off-putting for me. You're an adult. Act like it. Then tweeting something derogatory after the visit last night was also, to me, perhaps a sign that they may have been a massive headache, which is a shame considering how well the kid himself has handled things. But whatever.

I'll probably relax once we get some form of positive news. In general, I've just never been one to line up in the "trust the coaches" club when things seem obviously wrong. But generally, any time I voice text a 3-4 paragraph post before 8am, it's a good sign that I didn't sleep well and woke up grouchy.
I agree 100%. If Evers is scared to compete - see ya. But top 50 WR don’t grow on trees. You are going to need WR, he should have been a priority and contacted already.

I'm sorry if you are committed and a legacy and you decommit. I don't want your ass here. You should be one of the players, new coach or not does not have to worry about. If I was a gator fan all my life all it would take is an opportunity from the janitor to say hey come play for us and it be done. No damn loyalty anymore

whatever happened to:
"Commit to the school, not the coach" ?

The problem is he's getting offers and attention from other schools(I bet most of them weren't 6-6 this year either), while we're off in Texas offering 3*'s without any contact reportedly. As always, loyalty is a two way street. There are a lot of things that can be spun and justified. It's not a good look and doesn't make an ounce of sense.

I also miss like hell being able to wear an onion on my belt. People look at you crazy when you do it now.
That's what happens when you can't get any white onions because of the war, and have to resort to sporting one of those big nasty yellow ones.

Using Napier, let's just be where we belong. There is a naturalness about Florida's new bwana. We still have AR and these WRs with promise.=
Fraziars
X. Henderson (speed)
Shorter needs to return
Whittemore (versatile)
(sleeper) Daijon Reynolds {C.Del Rio's h.s. teammate}
Markus Burke
Ja'Markis Weston

TEs
Zipperer
George Wilcox 6'4" {rated #12 TE in the country}
Elksnis, 6'6" {rated # 14 TE in the country}
*J. Odom

Don't poo-poo these unused athletes. Remember Mullen was a de-developer. Napier might ignite these guys.?
BTW, how is Napier at developing, getting the most out of his players.? Maybe the long gone return of "the fighting Gators".??
Since Napier instills discipline = maybe we gain by fewer penalties.?
Surely, every athlete will improve beyond Mullen's floppy training.? Every athlete.
All of this isn't such a negative mystery. What will be our whole team development.? = in spirit, in full effort, in earned pride, in strength, etc.??

2. Numbers added to facilitate conversation.

1. Even Calvin Johnson playing for Ga Tech was a top pick and NFL Hall of Famer. So if you are that good, the system won't hold you back. The problem is not many are that good and thus a system fit can be the difference between being drafted and not.

2. I would be happy to have Evers back in the class. I do not believe there was a tweet about "chasing P in the club" but rather one about letting P cause you to make a bad decision in where to go, but my memory could be faulty. To me Mrs. Evers can not go from UF's best recruiter to a potential problem due to a coaching change. So I consider her a positive force in her sons' lives looking after their interest in recruiting and a positive force for UF's class while her son was in it. Now my concerns with Evers as a prospect was his team did not win as much as some and as someone else mentioned some of his stats. Still he is a good prospect and I hope UF ends up with Evers or a prospect as good as him in the class.

3. I received a call from someone in eastern time zone who failed to think of the central time being different this morning. But even tired I am a pretty happy guy and like you I will be a bit happier once we get some good news. I hope that is pretty soon.

I have to say I'm not worried about recruiting. Napier warned in his presser it was a mess. It will take time to rebuild and since he made it clear he knows that and has specific plan for it I feel comfortable letting this guy drive awhile and see what he comes up with .

If you were a WR and committed to your family's school, but the school hired a new coach whose offense was 89th and 80th in passing yards and 95th and 98th in pass attempts the last two years, would you just go ahead and sign or would you evaluate your situtation?

I'm sorry I'd go if the coach said I'd be on the scout team

This. And as I said, the old days concern of being saddled with the wrong kids is over. The portal is just as much an advantage for the programs as it is the athletes because you can encourage a move. Don't spiral out of control just for the sake of spiraling out of control. This makes no sense, and is exactly the type of thing that gets coaches fired. Can't wait until year 3 when he uses depth concerns as the excuse of why we're not playing well.

Two kids that they publicly declared they still want to be gators after the napier hire, suddenly decommit. .

Napier has an uphill battle.
