I think RG3 is purposely being silly at times as the color guy. He tries to be over the top on compliments as part of his shtick. Jones is an idiot, but I don’t mind RG.
I do agree with Ox though that neither seemed to have more than a casual knowledge of where we’re at. Their tone changed on the second drive where they mentioned the ups and downs of AR. Before that you’d guess it was the week after Utah.

They are instructed to do this. I'm sure he knows ARs sucked like a black hole for 6 weeks but he can't say that on the air. It is what it is. They have to try to be positive for the casual fan and for the channel flipper who is tuning in. Folks like us are a small minority. The vast majority of any fan base would go nuclear if a commentator did much besides talk about the positives.

He made a ton of hilarious comments. He made a pretty funny comment about the Fraziers touchdown as well. Some sort of Muhammad Ali reference. I just can’t recall it.

Agree with J on the funny comments. I laughed. And they were actually more tolerable compared to other games they butchered (remember the Gator game they used as a platform for incessant preaching about minority coaching hires after dan was fired?).
That said, there were several comments from the play by play guy that sounded like he had just discovered football existed and was still learning the basic rules of the game.
