Win? Chump would rather lose 2-0, than win 42-41.Champ was hoping to be the first coach in history to win a game 2-0. Someday.

Oh I get it and what you need to understand is no yankee is ever coming to Houston. Not as long as you bastards are running things !Many of us are like that though. I can remember faintly being at the Auburn game in 86, and most of the disaster that was the late 80s. But by the time I was 10 we had Spurrier and were killing it. Then after just three years of mediocrity, that still had some high points, we had the Meyer run. So this last 10 years has been very foreign to anyone in that age group. I don’t blame @Gatorbait25 for being upset and having such a high standard. His frustrations are understandable.
What I do blame him for is his not getting my Seinfeld 60s clown quote reference earlier in this thread. And that, I do not forgive.
Also I wasn’t alive in the 70s . Not sure how I was supposed to watch the gators then . Some of these old timers are turning into Stephen .Many of us are like that though. Exactly correct and don’t forget it takes at least 5 years to compete in the SEC. Sunbelt Billy is the new Butch.Agree 100 percent. I just don’t get the excuse makers. So I guess Gary Patterson should be coach of the year since he got fired last year and now his old team is in the playoffs. That has to be right because the record always belongs to the old coach, right? Ohh, only when the team sucks? So all the teams with new coaches that did well this year, we have to credit the new coach but all the teams that sucked it’s the old coaches fault? And next year is the same? If we do well it’s all Napier but if we shlt the bed Mullen? Good to know the rules.
Actually, lots of people gave Zook credit for the 2006 MNC because of the players he left behind for urbs, yet no one was looking to give him coach of the year honors either. Many people don't apply standards of measure very evenly. Mysteriously, many insert their feelings into the equation.Agree 100 percent. I just don’t get the excuse makers. Remember Grantham had top 25 talent and Mullet had a 5*ish Emory at qb for 3 years and didn’t develop him. AR was with Mullet for 2 years. While I agree Mullen left us in rough-ish shape, we need to realize we still had top 25 talent and a 1st round QB (side note - if we think he couldn’t develop AR but he’s going to develop Mertz for next year…..start Rashada
It’s perspective. Us old bastids have a steamer trunk full of it compared to you whippersnappers’ gym bag. I know it tries y’all’s patience, but it tries ours too, just from the other direction. When all’s said and done, we all really want our football to be relative and competitive like it was and it’ll get there eventually. The irony of it all is that the one’s who seem the most patient have the lesser amount of time to wait on it to happen. Dutch oven vs microwave I guess. Also I wasn’t alive in the 70s . Well, that’s about enough philosophizing. Back to my workout…
