Then I guess me being a rabid gator fan that has his day ruined by a loss has sailed too. I'm not changing my attitude. There's nothing special about winning a championship because you handed out the most money to kids
I wish I had a different answer for you and take losses as hard as anyone but seeing all of this unravel is extremely disheartening. What makes it even worse is this rests solely on the decisions of about 5 people and how they allowed our trajectory to go down rather than maintain or go up. UF peaked about 10 years too soon and allowing ourselves to not maintain that level of competitiveness, is how we ended up here today. I'm not too sure we come even close to a championship in the next 20-plus years (if CFB is even around as we know it by then).

I'm personally all for a minor-league NFL where players can play out of high school for money until they are eligible for the NFL. Everyone else can play college football under a scholarship. I don't care if the best talent is in the "pro" league, part of the fun of college football was the loyalty to the school itself, the pride, being an amateur, etc. Just give me some players that want to be there and college football can be great.

No QB = few wins. Our system is … poor. Rashada would likely have been a good QB in time.
I'm not saying that he's not talented. Or that he wouldn't have been a good qb in our system. But I don't think he should get special treatment over everyone else as far as nil goes. That's all I said.

Meyer should have rolled right into a great coach with the program he had at that point. But no. Our AD didn't want proven. He wanted "the next meyer" a hot up and comer

I'd bet on him being a headache with how this has gone. He's out to make a buck not win a championship
No doubt teams will be taking a hard look. Could hurt him more in the long runs. Two commitments, two back outs.

I can't imagine a decent program chasing the kid down and giving him a better deal than miami or Florida after all the drama with his recruitment. Rashada may end up being more victim than Florida after it's all said and done.

Everyone else that was an EE moved in the same day. As a team.

QB hold out wasn't a good look.

I bet the newbies have already moved on from him.

That article I posted makes a lot of sense. Everyone loves equality nowadays. Well...kid gets a 60k truck as part of his NIL...what's the offensive lineman who came to school because he wanted to get? What kind of lockeroom will that create

There will be some dickhead out there with too much money, too big of an ego and wants the spotlight that will give the kid what he wants regardless of ROI. CFB is becoming LIV Light, too much money and little to no return. We will be lucky to win 4 games next year!

Then there is this.

The No. 29 overall player in the Class of 2023, Rashada was expected to compete for the starting quarterback job as a true freshman. Without him in the class, Florida falls from 11th to 14th in the 247Sports Composite team rankings.

Far worse than the class rankings drop, though, is the Gators’ situation at the most important position on the game. After losing Anthony Richardson to the NFL Draft, dismissing Jalen Kitna, pulling a scholarship offer from four-star QB Marcus Stokes (due to a social media post) and now missing out on Rashada, Florida will enter the 2023 season with three-star transfer Graham Mertz (Wisconsin) as the team’s assumed starter.

Mertz threw for 19 touchdowns with 10 interceptions while completing just 57.3% of his passes last season for the Badgers. His acquisition out of the transfer portal was a head-scratcher to say the least.

Yup and hes banking on his talent being as advertised. This is going to lead us to some very bad places as huge NIL deals get a talented kid who turns into a bust

Maybe he just pussed out and doesn't want to compete with Lagway. In this new CFB normal, no way in hell both of those guys stayed on campus anyway.

What happens if the NCAA starts saying... "denied"... whether he ever plays a down for us or not?
