There was a hospital in Dallas named R.H. Dedman Hospital. About ten years ago they changed the name to RHD Hospital but everyone still calls it dead man hospital.

To this day I can’t believe they thought the name would be okay.

To this day I can’t believe they thought the name would be okay.

Many years ago they built a VA hospital in Memphis on Shotwell Road. Eventually they decided this was a bad optic in the 1940s with wounded service men arriving in large numbers and changed the name of the road to "Getwell." The hospital is long gone, but the changed name remains.
