See my other response above. It applies here, too.
If you watch their leg and hip work at times they are disciplined and deliberate. At other times they are lazy.

Same with the defense but against ga where they are so much stronger you can’t get turned.

This was my fear. Embarrassed. Came out quick. The bad decision and play call on 4th in the first changed the momentum. I don’t think the outcome would have changed, but you can’t have these. Both lines had the issuesI expected and a bit less sideways, and yet, weak sauce.

Go Gators

Next man up. Time to Q the hogs

We got rooked into a 4th down when its should have been a 1st, but instead of saying "no problem we got this" and just ramming it forward for a 1st down we go into complete "we can't compete with you" mode and try that retarded trick play.

Ball game. Everything else was just window dressing.

If we swap our offensive and defensive lines with UGAs the score is flipped. It’s the lack of elite talent in the trenches is the only reason this game went sideways fast. All the other bellyaching is nonsense.

Now if you want to knock Billy for not recruiting elite OL I am right there with you. We need more talent.

At the very least, the ball should have been marked an inch short of the first-down marker instead of two feet.

Which in Napier's warped mind would have meant it was flea flicker time.

It was the color of the football. Damned leg humpers get everything they want.

Agree with this. We weren't winning this game regardless of the boneheaded coaching decisions. But for a quarter it felt like an LSD flashback to be competing with Georgia again. I actually think we caught them a bit flat-footed to start the game. We came out on fire.

Sad but true! We were out classed in coaching. Which means we were out classed on all phases of the game.

I won’t disagree that it was spotted horribly and we should’ve just rammed it. But I will also freely admit that I would have been livid if we tried a conventional inside push and didn’t get it against that type of DL. We got aggressive and it backfired. If ETN is able to pass it and there’s a streaking WR down the sidelines for a 14-10 lead, we’re all thrilled. It just didn’t work. But totally agree that it was over right there. We don’t have the horse to hang in this game, especially down a score or two. But that almost validates the call. At this time, we have to go outside the conventional wisdom to compete with them. It sucks, and this isn’t to say Napier is 100% the guy, but the damage was done by people above him and few if any coaches were going to come in and compete with them right away. They’ve won 25 straight for a reason, smoked Ala and Saban in the NCG, would’ve beaten them last year and will beat them again this year unfortunately. It’s reality. They aren’t just rolling us.
