Bottom line is kids don’t want to sign on with a shyyty coach, a shyyty staff and a shyyty on-field product. They want to see improvement year over year and week to week here in year 2 and they’re not seeing it. They want to go somewhere where they can 1) win and 2) be developed so they maximize their chances of getting to the next level.

Billy is not doing any of that for them. The bottom line is he’s a crappy coach and he’s not cut out for this job. That’s just the truth of the matter, plain & simple. Keeping him around another year does nothing for us except setting us back even further.
Careful, talking about firing a coach in year 2 is heresy.

What makes this particular flip so damaging is that, if I recall correctly, Napier discovered him early on, and was one of the first to really pursue him. Obviously, the Bulldogs are the home state team, and he’s blown up in the rankings. But often times these kids stick out of loyalty to who showed loyalty to them. In this case, that didn’t happen, which doesn’t bode well for this staff as it’s a card they often play. The whole class is beginning to feel like our ‘14 class that just fell apart as we circled the drain.
I couldn't disagree more. He needs at least 5 years for us to have an idea of what kind of football program we can see under Billy.
I don't understand why our ruthless fans are so impatient. This class will go on to become great young men and thats what matters most to us gators. Frankly any dissent is absolutely shameful and anybody with any sense knows Billy has earned a significant pay raise.

Billy has earned the SEC coach of the year and this honor will only help recruiting. No contest really. I suspect he's already been handed the trophy.

Not only that, but anytime the recruits happen to be sitting at their desktop computer reading message boards with the rest of us over 40's, they yell out to their mother something like; "hey mom, upyourbutt235 said Billy Napier sniffs marshmallows. Should I still commit to UF?" To which their wise and loving mother replies, "heck naw... not my baby ...sniffing marshmallows, you tell them ain't no way you going to that school now!"

Fooley selected THREE losers: Zook, MusDump, and Butters. Strichnine has already selected TWO Losers: Cousin Eddie and Billy Taggert. Strichnine will not get a chance to tie Fooley's record.
That's what I said, foley got embarrassed and settled (Zook) and then hired two other jabornies where he knew he would have little or no competition. Stricklin got embarrassed and settled (Mullen) and has hired one jabrony. No one remembers Zook flying around the nation collecting No's to replace Spurrier before settling on Zook?

This has such a 2013 feel, including my state of apathy with the program. This had been the only thing I've checked on here for several weeks. Just no hope or positivity in the program, yet we are almost certain to keep the coach knowing we are blowing a year or more digging a bigger hole. Both the season and the recruiting class are falling apart while the coach trots out looking lost on the field and in the press room. And, like that time, we knew we had to start at AD, but were not hearing anything about possible changes there.

And, I suspect like the end of 2013 with a coach on a very hot seat, we will only be able to attract a mediocre OC who is being pushed out of his current job. And, like 2014, (1) the head guy is unlikely to change his entire perspective on how you win football games (even if he has been proven wrong) and (2) the head guy is, at core, mentally limited compared to the best.

you think were better than miami? a team with a winning record and one that took fsu to the wire in tally last week?

Schit we were a bad snap away from taking an "L" at home vs a really schitty USF team last year that fired their coach... They have shown improvement this year....

Based on the way this staff motivates for a bowl game, we might be better off.

Billy’s got a lot more pressing matters to worry about than a meaningless bowl game. Even if they pulled one of the next 2 out, I wish they’d just decline the invitation and concentrate on recruiting and staff changes since he’s gonna be around another season ( or half season lol)

I wish Billy had it in him to make enough difficult staff choices then the right hires. Don't believe it will happen. And, TBH, what motivation does he have? He doesn't appear motivated in the first place. And, with a buyout in place, he's set regardless. He really does know how to put the foundation of a program together. No doubt about that. But he cannot staff and coach it.

I'm hoping we don't go to a bowl.

A much better use of the coaches time would be spending that "practice" time begging/pleading/buying/threatening existing recruits to stay, evaluating and going after replacements and evaluating the Portal and getting $$$ ready to pounce.

A much better use of the players time, instead of more "practicing" $hit that's failed all season, would be to get their a$$es in the weight room and film room.

The "extra" practices are a waste with this coaching staff and players.

I would love for the team to go 2-0, except the wasted time prepping for a $hit bowl while recruites bail between tge end of FSU and ESD.

Need Jimmy's and Joe's.
