I like the portal strategy. If you’re not getting one of the top 10-15 or so portal players from FBS, get productive or exceptional starters with experience from lower tier programs.

Failed? He'd be the best OT on the team. Easily. By a fantastic margin. Did you actually watch our clownshow duo of Barber and George at all.
Agree 100%. He's not great by any means but he'd be our best option at LT even though I think he's more of a RT player. I'm praying the guy from SDSU is at least starting quality here.

Is this good? Do we like this?
I like the fact that he's been around CFB for 5 years and has played every position in the DB backfield meaning he not great at any of them but might have good situational awareness which is something none of our safeties have had for the last 3 years....oh and he made more tackles last season than our entire secondary has in about the last 3 or 4 years

I like that we're being more aggressive and I agree. But outside of slackman and the sdsu transfer. These guys aren't exceptional starters. The Tulane safety was a back up and the defensive end was a project. Two borderline walkon prospects. Not that we're done, I know we're still in it for some solid transfers. But these last 2 were headscratchers to me. I like the dike and Howard additions too. I was just referencing transfers from the group5 schools.

GD, how much worse is this going to get? Now we are recruiting women? I guess at least we are sticking to dikes. I’m assuming OL?

They're stop gaps.....as much as we'd like to believe our freshmen will be starters on day one history tells us differently. Normally good coaching brings the freshmen along behind these types of guys until mid season or so and then the quality freshmen start getting more reps as injuries and poor play starts to add up.... unfortunately for us, were usually out of contention by this time of the season and well into the meat of our schedule.....hence 5-7 records and disgruntled freshmen looking for a place where someone teaches them how to be winners......rinse and repeat...
