So you are saying, right now, the boosters are all in line with what Stricklin is saying in that interview with On3? I highly doubt the boosters forking out millions are on board with the 'long game' angle. Facilities are built and up to date. Supporting staff assembled and on the job for 1-2+ years now. Players have been coached and developed for 2+ years now. Only thing left to do is sell it to recruits, develop players and win games. Is that the long game?

Again, I disagree with you. I dont have a lot of money but if I was to contribute to Florida Victorious at the same percentage as the boosters are based on my paycheck, which would only probably be 3 zeros tops...I'd be complaining like a mofo about that long game stuff. Time to shorten the game because long game at this point is new coaches and AD.

About Florida Victorious. I have a very good and close friend that is a huge member in that organization. I have thought about joining and wanted some info rather than the internet hype. So, I spoke to him about FV over the holiday and further specifically about what you and @GatorJ are discussing here. He told me the exact thing. Several, not all, (Boosters) but enough are bought in and support the "long term" rebuild. My response was like most of us, "WTF" if 2024 is as bad or worse than '23? The response was, he's getting 2024 into '25 unless something bad contractually or those at cause items were to happen. Personally, I think a lot of them want to see what happens with Lagway. Several on here have mentioned they believe he gets 2024, honestly. But thought it was interesting to post it. I have been thinking that there sure is enough noise (and type of noise as in the past) that many prior coaches have been canned. But this is totally different. But with how we are seeing this unfold, with not much information, seems to be playing out how my friend and others suggest. Not that any of us like it, but it's what we're dealing with.

It's pretty bad and honestly I don't know what to think about our beloved program. Want to see something positive and something to where we are not kicked in the dyck a day or two after having something positive happen.

Regardless, I am behind them and will support these players. So hoping this thing will get turned around or resolution to come. SOON.

Top 15 classes, aren't the "good" players I thought we would be getting under SB.

Top 15 classes, get's you South Carolina, Kentucky, Arkansas and Miss State level players.
Hell, We aren't even on the same plane as Ole Miss, Mizzou, Auburn, A&M, Oklahoma or Tennessee.
Much less, Ga, Bama, Texas and LSU.

We are barely above Vandy.

Yeah, I'll chat him up. Going back to Hogtown later this month to visit my parents. So I will be giving him a yell to meet up for drinks like on all trips.
Don't think we'll get a lot of positives. It's definitely the strangest time I have ever seen in 50+ years of Gator Football. God help us.

GV knows there is going to be no change this year, and they have known that from the beginning outside of him doing something completely out of character. The administration has no fire to do so. The Boosters themselves have lost a lot of power due to the TV money, especially the new ESPN contract. The people above Stricklin have other things to worry about than football, why worry about something that bringing in 40-50 million dollars just in distribution rights revenue. It will be late next season before anyone of any say has anything to say about what is going on. Stricklin is doing the one thing he was brought in to do, which is fund raise, and that mfer has the money flowing.

Billy strikes as the type that wants to be a mentor and teacher to both young staff and players. Yoda. Those days are gone unless you‘re Saban and can keep folks based on the winning program.

The more team gunslingers with attitude he can bring in to fight his battles the better. Like the magnificent 7 without dying. Coaches and staff. Now can he keep up with the new pace?

Cannot understand the “long term plan”. Kids, these days, leave even in the middle of their first year. BN was hired to rebuild the program quickly. Given the fast changing circumstances in the college football, why do we need a long term plan? How do other mediocre programs recruit better than us without a long term plan? What is their long term plan?

Keeps telling me how disciplined his teams are, how the execution is off the charts, how organized, how strong and fast his teams play.

Saw him last year at a Christmas party, then saw him again a few weeks ago at the same party, new year.

He asked me, "So, what do you think about Naps?"

I went on a 10 minute rant about 10 men on the field, two O line coaches, terrible play calling, weak team that doesn't want to hit, etc...etc.

He just shook his head and said, he needs time to get his guys on the roster, that will buy into his type of discipline and execution on the field.

I just walked away....... Well, I haven't seen any evidence at all that he can do any of those things. If I could, I would pay his buy out and send him back to the Sunbelt, where he belongs.

Zero evidence. Past two seasons have been opposite.

I could see that in that past at smaller, less talented leagues his offense worked because of execution. But to me, his offense in the SEC and National level requires extremely good OL, because we play teams with excellent front sevens that can run past or collapse slower weaker OLs(like ours). Many of his plays were over at the snap. So he might recollect and romanticize "execution" but there is more to it now than that.

The RB flowing to the sideline to catch a pass cornered and 5 yards behind the LOS is just odd.
