Consistent with observation in another thread that what really determines whether Mac stays or goes is offense, and what will determine the offense is the running game, I am opening a thread for rushing predictions for the Vandy game. Should there be any bashers who want to avoid the possibility, however remote, that they might be mistaken for trolls,, they can express their desire for a new coach with a low rushing predictions here.
Since I fear that a new coach might be as bad as the last and since I am impressed with Malik's ability to squeeze through narrow creases, I will begin with a sanguine prediction of 211 yards.

The leading rusher will be Ralph Webb.....and it won't even be close! The best RB on that field, by far.
Wrong! Florida would be way up in the first stanza. They will have to throw the ball more to catch up. Perine will be the leading rusher.

He will also get more opportunities, Vandy's offense has proved to consistently stay on the field.

I got Malik Davis leading the team in rushing for this game and the rest of the season. He is the best RB on the team. Perine is having a sophomore slump and has been running soft all season. I like Mark T but the coaches aren't trusting him enough. I'll go with Davis hitting 100 yards rushing as we ride him the whole 4th quarter.

we haven't been able to run the ball very well, or consistently, but now against a good defense we'll run for 250+

good to know...

Yes I'm ready for a new coach but it looks like our rushing output is about to increase considerably. This might save butter's hyde for a spell. Malik has now been discovered. And we know Toney is excitement with the ball in his hands.

Davis - 127 (and maybe more)
Toney - 87
Perrine - 43 (and maybe less)
Thompson - 32

Malik, Malik, Malik will be the news Sunday morning. We now have a great RB.

I don't think this will be a close game. We win by 21 points.

Malik certainly looks like a talented back, especially for a true freshman. But I'm not sure why everyone is ready to anoint him king after one decent 4th quarter performance against Kentucky.

Doesn't matter who the RB is, the OL has to continue to develop as a unit to succeed in the team stats department. What was the stat, 8 runs over 10 yards so far this season?

I'll go with 200+ for us to win, because Del Taco isn't slinging it all over the field anytime soon, so we'll need to stay true to the run and hope it works.

Man up? Is this another contest where you hope to be proven right? Here's a guess, 117. It's about as good or bad as anyone else's.
Thanks for participating. 117 is probably as good or bad as the rest of us. Although it always feels good to be right, I don't think that is my main motivation. I do think it's good to back up sentiment with numbers.
