So I guess based on his salary this equates to a $2 million fine?
Ive seen that the AD is on unpaid suspension. Ive never seen it say Leyer was getting an unpaid suspension.

Since I have read the entire text of the findings of fact by the independent investigator, here is my summary with respect to what they considered actionable behavior:

1. He was aware of the 2015 incident because AD Smith told him at the time but did not notify
Athletic Compliance or University Compliance since it was his boss that reported it to him. AD Smith received the info from Title IX Coordinator. AD Smith informed his superiors but not
Athletic Compliance or University Compliance
2. AD Smith tried to prepare him what to say at the Big Ten conference
3. Urban went off script and tried to deny everything including that he was aware of the 2015 incident ostensibly because he tried to protect Zach Smith
4. He asked an assistant coach how to set his iPhone so that only 1 years messages would be retained (suspicious behavior)
5. There might be some NCAA violation because Zach took some HS coaches out to a strip club on a recruiting trip in 2014 and Meyer was aware of it. He reprimanded Zach but did not report it up the chain of command or Compliance.
6. Both he and Shelley denied that Shelley told him about Courtney Smith's complaints. Shelley said that it was because she did not believe Courtney's stories. It does not really matter since he was aware of the 2015 incident.
7. Nobody knew of the violation of protection arrest (in May 2018) until notified by social media

Since Meyer is docked 3 games pay can the University donate the money to an abused woman's shelter? That should be a substantial amount!

The committee report and trustees meeting was an attempt to straddle the fence by showing some guilt and contrition without firing Meyer & the AD. The press conference showed it was a sham, as nobody spoke sincerely, especially Urban Meyer, who looked like a schoolboy reading a forced confession to avoid being whipped by his Dad. This is not playing out well nationally and my opinion is that Ohio State will eventually regret the way they handled this. They put money and winning football games above integrity and morality and it ended up shining a brighter light on Urban Meyer's true scumbag character.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State on Wednesday night suspended head football coach Urban Meyer for the first three games of this season after a two-week investigation found that he mishandled domestic assault allegations made against former Buckeyes assistant coach Zach Smith and misrepresented what he knew about the situation in a public statement in July.

Meyer was suspended without pay and banned from interacting with the football team through Sept. 2. He can rejoin the team at that point, but he will not be able to coach in games against Oregon State, Rutgers and No. 16 TCU.

While Meyer was/is a scumbag there was not a lot of actionable findings against him. If lying to the press/public is a crime, the current president and his two press secretaries should be serving 40 to life by now. :)

Meyer will, every coach will and every recruits parents will......Meyer wont be on a sideline by 2020......book it
Their recruiting will be the actual downfall from all of this. and don't let Rosie hear about all of this or she will have the horseshoe protested every Saturday gameday

That's what Buckeye nation is counting on, but I don't think that's the case. We'll see.

I think it will slowly fade as the season moves along. By next year it will pretty much be an afterthought, especially if he continues winning at a high rate. He could take a hit in recruiting this cycle though, we will see.

Can the NCAA step in and say we’re gonna look into this this situation ourselves now? Or is this not an NCAA issue?

By October first, no one will remember...
If that. All this does is add another example of Urban's casual acquaintance with the truth. Nothing new there. The only question was whether the specter of criminality in the program would trump big money football, although, admittedly, this is another problem that seems to dog Meyer. Guess we got our answer: Bucknuts are gonna' nut; haters are gonna' hate.

So the downside is he loses the "treat women with respect" lip service. No big deal. When James Robinson(?) got in trouble for smoking weed with OSU players during an OV did Meyer do anything to those players for endangering a recruit's future? He's just a midwestern Bowden "boys will be boys" I guess.

Never stopped them in the past in making it their issue, especially with the media coverage this is getting and with all the #metoo movements going on at campuses all over the country. If anything they could go back to his days here with the whole Chris Rainey debacle with violence towards women....

This is all a joke, as big as the MeToo movement and domestic violence issues are in today's society Urban gets 3 games? The NCAA suspends players longer for selling their autographs. OSU has their heads so far up their own asses it's not even funny.

It is really amazing how UnAmerican and sexists this area of American life has gotten.

Personally:

1. I am American enough to believe in innocent until proven guilty and not believe in punishing someone who has never even been charged with a crime.

2. I am not sexists enough to treat women as less than full formed human beings who can decide when to leave an abusive situation if they feel abused.

You unAmerican sexists of course want to buy the PC line that Smith should have been deprived of his right to make a living due to unsubstantiated rumors and treat his former wife like she was a child and was not responsible for taking care of herself and leaving if she was being abused.
