This fits in an S & C thread, but that's long gone. Check for yourself = training of olympic speed skaters.
That side-slide apparatus is under $700. In addition to building powerful all-direction thigh muscles, this maneuver 'teaches' quick-twitch muscles how to fire to enhance balance. = less linemen getting thrown aside, less off balance stumbling, and less ankle injuries. In case you think this idea loco, I won't shove verbage on you, just research what speed skaters are doing.

Dan is gonna flip some big fish and Pickering could be one of the biggest. This looks likely based on what he said. You know Diwun will be relentless now.

I think he's at the top definitely. Would be the gem of the class.

I'd say, outside of Pickering (in no order):

Justin Eboigbe, Alabama commit (they're making a ton of DL offers and will probably sign 6 to 8 DL's).

Derek Hunter, FSU commit. Who the hell knows what this kid is going to do? He reminds me of Zipperer, only Zip hasn't committed yet. His last visit though he brought his parents and made very mature comments.

Datona Jackson, 6'4 265lbs, JUCO w/ a lot of offers (de-committed from Colorado recently, visiting UF in December and UCLA, Arizona, and others).

Smith Vilbert (recent offer, low 3-star that's gaining steam w/ good offers late. 6'7 250lbs), from NJ and a Rutgers lean. Probably will go elsewhere now that he's getting more popular.

Brandon Dorlus, 6'4 265, committed to Va Tech, recently visited UF. I think he'd flip in a heartbeat. Florida kid, from Deerfield Beach. Good Plan B:

Brandon Dorlus, 2019 Strongside defensive end - Rivals.com

Quashon Fuller, another FSU commit. 6'4 255, - hopefully we can flip one of the two FSU commits.

Taures Payne, JUCO, 6'4 265lbs - Kentucky commit.

Brayden Monday, low 3-star from North Carolina. 6'4 240, also plays TE. High motor, I'd prefer him as a PWO.

For the DL class to be "great" we're going to have to get a flip....or two. I'd like to get either of the FSU kids & Pickering....then add another DT if we can. If not, add one of the Plan B DL's (Monday, Dorlus, or a JUCO). We likely add Summerall as a WDE/OLB, and I'm sure one of the LB's we have committed will play that spot eventually.

Honestly, I'd rather see Clayton stay than us going after a JUCO.

Right now we need, at a minimum: 1 or 2 more OL's, 2 more DL's, and a Safety. We could use another WR...and the world won't end if Zipperer doesn't come (and we get no TE in the class), but it would be a big miss.

We have 3 decent OLs still looking our way; Tarquin, Hammond, and Bell. Bell's been leaning Auburn lately, which tells me the staff may have backed off. We need Tarquin because he's a true OT.

If we take another WR it will likely be the Lake City kid, TJ Jones.

Interesting comment by Tarquin at the end of the article. He's signing in December and enrolling early. It'd be nice to steal one from the coCanes.
Tarquin calls the Swamp “special” after visiting Florida Gators | GatorCountry.com
“As of right now it will be between Florida and Miami but I still have to think about things,” Tarquin said. “I’ll make the final decision a little before signing day after I know for sure, after my visits. I’ll either just stay committed to Miami or flip.”

OL is definitely a huge need for us. We are losing 4 seniors, plus likely Taylor. Tarquin is important because he's a true OT. We have a bunch of OG's on the hook, but only one OT. That's why I think Bell might be getting pushed to Auburn (he was all about UF just a few weeks ago). I'd like to get Bell, Hammond, and Tarquin - but that would give us 7 OL's which is probably one too many.

I agree and was in error with my statement which is why I edited it out. We were looking good on numbers with Bell and Hammond in queue, which was my original thinking, but Tarquin being a true OT is something we need.

True w/ the DT's....but my opinion is you take two if two want to come and "you can never have too many DT's". But I get it w/ the scheme. I know Law harps on it all the time w/ the smaller DE's, and ultimately he's right. Our hands are tied w/ the players we have on the current roster, so hopefully moving forward we get guys to fit the scheme we want to run.

I'm not sure what's going to happen at Safety. Seems like if we don't get the kid committed to Tennessee (who is already 220lbs) we may not get one. I read elsewhere that we may hold at least 2 spots for grad transfers. The kid at USC would be a nice pick up, but is he eligible next year?

Not sure about Bolden. It looks like he never played a snap and withdrew from school. It doesn't look like there was any criminal issue. It was a code of conduct issue and he was issued a 28 month suspension.

Sounds like it involved alleged underage drinking and trash talking at a party. The California libs were scared of the black guy and reported him. I would think the case could be made that he could play right away, but maybe @Concrete Helmet could give us his expert opinion.

Awe that's to bad

Florida State received some bad news regarding its 2019 recruiting class when four-star offensive tackle Charles Cross announced that he would be decommitting from the ’Noles and opening back up his recruitment.

Cross, a Mississippi native who is ranked as the No. 19 offensive tackle per the 247 Composite, has been heavily linked to Mississippi State in the past few weeks.

They've been handing out waivers like tic-tac's recently. So it may be a possibility. Especially since he was handed a 28 month suspension. I'd call that extenuating, but who knows about the NCAA

I forgot tarquin was from north marion. I've got a north marion connection. I'll see if he knows where he's headed.
