That is about the strangest thing ever. However freeze does say he is a good Christian man.

He did his unofficial apology speech at Liberty while in hiding after the disgraceful Ole Miss firing, it was his first public appearance:

Fallen football coach testifies to how grace restores | Liberty University

Hugh Freeze asks for forgiveness during first public speaking appearance at Liberty University

He'd be a good hire there and he plays the "good Christian" card as well as anyone since Bobby Bowden.

Feldman is reporting that Kingsbury has agreed to be OC at USC.

I keep waiting to see who mack brown hires as OC. He was holding out for Kingsbury. Now he's headed to USC. This hire could maybe impact whether fsu keeps their qb commit.

@Brett_McMurphy: Alabama OC Mike Locksley will be Maryland’s coach, sources told @WatchStadium. He will be introduced at school Thursday. "Maryland football has been through unique hardships & needs Mike Locksley as much as he may need to be home at Maryland,” source said Maryland Hiring Alabama's Mike Locksley As Head Football Coach - Stadium
Two things: it will be interesting to see how much this affects Bama’s offensive performance in the playoffs. Two, this guy has a 3-31 career head coaching record. So kiss Maryland football goodbye.

So Saban loses another OC. Unreal the number of OCs he has gone through.

No shyt. It's the recruiting that keeps these two programs ticking. Tucker was a horrible DC in Chicago. We couldn't get rid of that lame brain quick enough.

Just noticed that Lorenzo Ward was let go by Looovulle. Not sure how tight he is w Grantham, but he was Vatech's DB coach for a long time. Worked some for Spurrier. Dont really want his as a DC ever but, he was a solid recruiter and very good DB coach.

Of course, so was English back in the day.

Edit: I meant for this to be in response to Bammer losing OC. On a phone, dont want to go back, find it and edit.

It is also an enormous staff, with staff members that have very small jobs, endless amounts of help and no limits to tech, and numerous quality controls. Each decision work product is checked by several people.

Hell their quality control staff (game film cutters and reviewers) are larger than most teams entire staff.

There is an entire staff to cut the opponents. There is an entire staff to cut their own, trying to notice tendencies that other teams would. Even an entire staff that just watches players practices, drills, lifts. They notice even the little stuff the coaches cant, and fix it.

They have people whose only job is to know the formations. Think Bammer wasnt going to notice #11 on STs? Maybe they will think it was Linebacker #11, as Ugly does have one? No chance, obviously. Frankly youd think Kirby Dumbchump would know they wouldnt fall for that. Or perhaps Ugly should have set it up by playing Linebacker #11 on punt coverage some first. Formation was wrong too, only one upback which they had never done before. So Dumbchump. This isnt a team that just feels happy if they can get 11 players on the field.... they are PREPARED.

Ditto w recruiting staffers. Bammer has over a hundred (w interns and graduates). Im sure they watch more HS game film than any other staff and film.workouts when the players do workouts or camps hoping to know exactly which kids can or cannot do certain tasks.

We have a small staff of a dozen trying to do all these things. It was one of the things that Butters DID try to fix, without success. Im sure our Slumlords we shocked at all he wanted. They thought half an IPF and a minor refresh on the building sometime in a decade was good enough. He wanted new state of the art facilities and a 80 or 100 more staffers.

It is much much easier to function in that environment, and Saban does put his brand on every position. Im not saying the coordinator doesnt affect things at Bammer but even Kiffy said Saban persoy sat in on every game offensive game plan, not just reviewing and signing off. Kiffy was shocked by it.

Saban isnt anything special at calling games, not like SOS. However, he is the most PREPARED coach college football has ever seen.

Thanks Fooley.

You couldnt destroy a program more thoroughly if you were trying.

Did you ever hear of a guy, Coach Butters Macshark?

He left with a Butter GOLDEN parachute.

From what I hear, no coach has ever done more damage.

Well deserved. I'm not sure anyone thought he'd be successful there.
I think he got the Jimmy Sexton bump. His name was floated for other openings probably just to get this raise.
