Agree completely. Honestly, I selfishly want Elam (outlined above in previous post)....but we are good w/ the 3 CB's we got. And I really don't care about MAR, unless he wants to play Safety. We need two heavy DL's for the future of the program. Sure, getting the grad transfer is fine....but we only have 3 or 4 'heavy' DL's on the roster right now that will be here in 2021. I don't want to end up w/ 4 or 5 heavy's in next year's class hoping they'll be ready for the 2021 season after just one year on campus. Relying on transfers isn't the way to build a program. On a positive note though, DL is really the only spot we're not looking really good at right now. Safety needs a few bodies, but I think we have enough DB's on campus that they can find someone (or more) to move to Safety.

Oregon: "I like Coach Tre (Watson), Coach (Donte) Williams and Coach (Mario) Christobal. I talk to them every single day now. They really need a safety that can cover and play in the box. That is something they don't have. They feel I could fill that need so I could play early there. That is appealing to me. And I know they are going to take care of me off the field."

No wonder Oregon is recruiting so good right now - Christobal brought that Bama mentality there.

That Ira Henry's twitter is loaded with FSU stuff. His only pinned tweet calls FSU his dream school.

The takeaway here is that Savage doesn’t follow recruits, he only follows incoming players and players already on the roster. Elam seems to be the lone exception
That sounds like a big deal

FYI, he is a Rush Linebacker. Certainly not a DT.

BTW, looks like he chose #99

Well he got lucky because it appears to me that he can get an offer from FSU this year when he would not have in many other years.

I like Anthony-Richards a lot too. But I want this kid from the next cycle for that hybrid RB/WR position. Toney can hold it down perfectly fine until we can possibly land Rakim Jarrett.

This X1,000....Some people can't get over the fact that Safety play was spotty at best this.....Of course it was because we had a bunch of guys trying to play WITHOUT a lot of experience.....Anyone remember Major Wright's first season? Or Marcus Maye's first 2 seasons? Fella's talent, speed, and instinct mean a lot at the Safety spot BUT it only works once those skills are blended with experience....

Exactly. Chauncey’s curl back across the field to snag that first INT against Michigan was a beautiful example of experience + talent leading to a huge play.

That said, the right player can take that step young and produce. Example is Ahmad Black - maybe a half step slow for CB and a bit undersized at S, but a great mind for the game and a flat out great playmaker as a sophomore in 2008 and made the key INT vs. OU. He had to be a monster at preparation.

We’ve had other DBs that could play wherever needed in the backfield.

Black was always around the ball. Another Safety like that was Todd Johnson, maybe more so than Black.

Wright was an immediate upgrade from Kyle Jackson.

My concern is more that

(1) we are playing two of the least talented kids despite havimg more talented option on the bench who appear to be much more competent on the field in their limited playing time
(2) no improvement unlike other positions
(3) therefore no confidence in the position coach making these decisions

Davis and Stewart >>>>>>>>>> stiner and Taylor. Stewart must have pissed off the staff after LSU because he barely saw the field again. Any coach who puts their secondary in that type of predicament on purpose has no business being on this staff.

Agree completely. I have no clue what is going on. Maybe he was secretly suspended.
