No team wanted Dipshyt on the field. Hell, only one terrible team wanted him on the scout squad.
See post #448. Your protestations are all about my simple assertion that Driskel has started more NFL games than Franks ever will. Instead of raising straw men and beating around the bush, just say "No, Franks will start more." How many will Franks start? Time to put up or shut up. Goes for you too, J.

How in the hell would I know how many games Franks will start in the NFL?

I'm trying to understand something. Legit question: What makes you think Driskel will start more games than Franks?

I know you're asking everyone about Franks, but it doesn't register to me why you would make the claim that Driskel will start more. Everything from college production to measurables to arm talent leans in favor of Franks. This, of course, is a hypothetical that neither one of us can prove at this point, but the evidence suggests that you're way off base here.

Never understood why that Cincy coach was so enamored with Driskel unless it was only his physical traits. Driskel played like crap that first pre-season with the 49ers and was cut despite being drafted and even with some years under his belt now has shown he has no ability to push the ball down the field at the NFL level.

My guess is the same will result with Franks with his bad field awareness. Franks better hope there is a Cincy coach out there that falls in love with his physical traits and ignores most of the rest of it. i will give Franks credit for cutting down on turnovers big time as he learned to stop that mostly at least - kind of like Driskel did after leaving UF.

He wasnt enamored with him. They signed him to be a scout team QB and hopefully "fix" him. Their #2 went down in fall camp, they couldnt find a replacement and they went cheap. They didnt intend to have him on the field.

Every projection shows Bengals drafting a QB this year, first or second round. And they signed an experienced backup type. Common knowledge in midwest Dipshyt is already gone. He will probably go to camp as a camp arm then be cut late. No one else is interested in him, of course.

Well they signed him to be on the regular roster and not the practice squad and didn't draft any other QBs the next few years after signing him to give some competition. I would say that is locking him in place there despite his actual production while on the field. If not for Cincy we probably never even hear about Driskel in the NFL after he was first cut by the team that drafted him his rookie year.

Being on the regular roster was a roster trick. Since he was cut, something about that made 49ers pay most of his salary. I think of they cut him from the 53 he would also have to pass waivers, though Im not sure why they would be afraid of that. I forget the specifics.

He practiced with the scout squad. He was the scout squad QB until last year.

My statement was that Driskel has started more NFL games than Franks ever will. I doubt that Franks will ever start a single NFL game. Do you think he will? I think that Driskel actually liked to run and was a natural for Mullens' offense. I believe that, had he been given a year to learn this offense, he would have been quite competent at running it. I think the main differences between the two has arisen from (1) coaching, (2) the offensive lines they worked behind, and (3) the style of offense they played in. You seem to honestly feel that this "way off base". I would be interested in where and how far you think this view is off base.
P. S. It may be that I enjoy, just a little, trigerring Donk's ARDS.

They could have signed him to the practice squad only and didn't but that coach always carries 3 active I think. Driskel can thank that coach and his size etc. for being a millionaire instead of just a guy that did one pre-season and was cut.

He's made $1.55 million in 3 years in the league, and will make another $720K if he's on the roster this year. Absolutely amazing! After taxes & agent fees, he's probably pocketed around $1mil.

You're kind of new around here so let me just reinforce a rule, if you ***** about dislikes you get even more dislikes.

I'm going to let you slide this time.

I ain't ****** about dislikes, I like them and work hard for them from twatwaffles like GatorJ, Itraz and the other boob I can't remember who threw me some shade. And I ain't kinda new around here ... I have been here ... before gatorchatter ... threw an orange that hit that doosh Schnellenberger in the head as they came out the field in the swamp back in the Swamp in 78, then promptly got escorted out by the police who laughed and gave me high fives once he got me to the gate and told me to go back in and have fun.

Our LOS play has sucked so hard for the last 8 years and a lot of bafoons continued to complain about QB play as if that was the issue. It gets old how fixated some are on the QB play and continue to put the cart before the horse.

I fear that some of the "bafoons" may get another lesson in the importance of line play this year.
