You just wish you had something that wins games. Swag or chains or something.
What attendance DOES is fill the coffers, so you can hire a semi competent coach some day. I dont like your odds.
The truth is, most years, you draw less people than the Miami Redhawks and are less of a football team, too. This year will be no different.
Every now & again we surprise ourselves & the rest of the college
football world & come alive like we did a couple of years ago when we made Notre Dame look like a HS team. It also totally amazed me that we beat you Gators with Coach Golden who was a horrible coach. We certainly don't have the number of donors that you have, but we have a few heavy contributors such as Ron RIco Rum CEO, ARod & the Rock. 'Course you have to take into consideration the enrollment difference between our private school of around 10,000 vs. over 40,000 @ UF.
Agree that Diaz is an unknown, (may be good or may be a dud) but in-state highly competitive games, particularly when the players know each other & even played with or against each other in high school can be totally unpredictable. Miami notoriously usually comes alive when playing FSU, UF, OSU & ND. Regardless, I am hoping for a competitive game. Beware, we are bringing out a new chain this year. It is probably more gaudy than the last one, but hey...that fits us!!! LOL
Please advise where you got your stats on attendance between the Miami of Ohio Redhawks & the Univ. of Miami. I googled attendance of both & brought up the NCAA record for 2017. First of all Yeager Stadium where the Redhawks play has a total capacity of 24,286. In 2017 they averaged 16,444 & Univ of Miami averaged 58,682. Of interest, UF had an average attendance of 86,715 & FSU 70,943 BTW, UF was 11th in Division 1 attendance & Univ of Miami was 25th.
