We knew what we got w Mullinz. We're still sitting with 1 top 100 recruit (Gervon Dexter #98). I just went through all the undecided top 100. Doesn't look good. Based on Rivals forecast, we're only in the mix for one recruit, EJ Smith #95. They show its a three way battle between us, Stanford and A&M. Lots of predictions for Georgia, LSU, OSU, Texas, Bama, etc. for the rest of the undecideds. Kind of sad.
Not surprised at all. It is what it is. Sad state of affairs. We knew what we got w Mullinz.
Why be surprised?
Now you are getting it.We knew what we got w Mullinz.
Why be surprised?
Are you really sad? We are recruiting better now than with mcelwain, yet Mullen still won 10 games with a roster mostly handpicked by mcelwain. We know that progress has started in the "arms race" so that will only help future. Things are finally moving in the right direction again. Not surprised at all. It is what it is. No no, the proper response is Mullinz sucks, recruiting sucks, the program sucks, facilities won’t get built until the year 2100. Just trying to help outAre you really sad? we are recruiting ever so slightly better than Butters and the staff is clearly the second worst recruiters weve ever had, and continuing to trend down. You brag about a guy who steals players from Kentucky or Indiana being better than a guy who stole players from FAU. That isn't much of a compliment. Are you really sad? Mac was a colosal disaster and in no way is the measuring stick. I'm just pointing out the facts. From 2006 - 2014 we were a fixture in the top 100. We had two classes with 11 top 100 recruits and never had less than 5. We landed the #1 recruit twice and routinely had 3 of the top 20. Mac went 2, 4 and 1. Mullen had 5 last year which is respectable, but on the low end of where we should be. We're now sitting with 1 and what seems to be slim prospects for even getting to Mac level. So yeah, I'd say that's sad.Are you really sad? We are recruiting better now than with mcelwain, yet Mullen still won 10 games with a roster mostly handpicked by mcelwain. 1990-2014.. . we actually had those various early magazines rating us top classes back to the 80s too though of course probation hurt the numbers. We dominated the All-State teams. Had state Mr Football on campus as walk ons or as 4th string quarterbacks.Mac was a colosal disaster and in no way is the measuring stick. I'm just pointing out the facts. From 2006 - 2014 .
Well put. Seems there's a bit of revisionist history going on that Spurrier won with lesser talent. Couldn't be further from the truth. Spurrier's team were loaded with top talent.1990-2014.. . we actually had those various early magazines rating us top classes back to the 80s too though of course probation hurt the numbers. I know Rivals didnt exist but let's not pretend elite recruiting began with Urban Meyer.
I guess some of our friends here think we should be on a leisurely second decade rebuild. They are obviously more than happy with the glacial pace and general lack of concern from our athletic department.
Sos often missed on the #1 player type talent to Booby or Donnan/Ray Goof but he still landed mostly top3-5 classes. A few of the lower rated classes were very small classes. He had at least 3 consensus #1 classes.Well put. Seems there's a bit of revisionist history going on that Spurrier won with lesser talent. Couldn't be further from the truth. Those old recruitimg magazines arent on the internet though so people seem o just make up whatever thy like
So you agree, we are recruiting better than mcelwain. That is an improvement, which is a step in the right direction. I agree we had the 2nd worst recruiting staff, but we have had plenty of staff turnover and also appear to be hiring more analysts. Another step in the right direction.we are recruiting ever so slightly better than Butters and the staff is clearly the second worst recruiters weve ever had, and continuing to trend down. Butters and Chimp had "10 win seasons" too (such a useless term given today's schedules). We aren't Kentucky or South Carolina. Being a third tier SEC team means nothing here.
Who cares about anything after 2008? That's when we became 3rd tier SEC, right?Mac was a colosal disaster and in no way is the measuring stick. I'm just pointing out the facts. From 2006 - 2014 we were a fixture in the top 100.
