like it did last year?

The class last year was a good class. Things like Jones, Steele(is he still a "hero"? I can't remember), and the kid from the Bahamas can't be anticipated. Academic casualties can be a knock and that's rightly on the staff. Kids being idiots once they arrive, and a technicality on immigration are separate issues. Not a banner class, but not as if it was terrible either.

No, it was below average even if all those kids had landed.

We are the Florida Gators not the Florida Sharkhumpers. Top 5 is the standard here.

And I don't mean #5 in the SEC.

Every coach for major program usually gets 3 years to show their imprint on the program. Mullen is currently in year 2... The 2020 recruiting class is going to be huge for him moving forward. The same people already writing that extension for Mullen, were the same ones writing an extension for Butters after two SEC East Titles. Year three is when 60 percent of a 5 year cycle in roster is established and the path should be known.

Agreed. I see a difference in how zook, muscramp, mcelstain, and Mullen handle(d) themselves. My torch and pitchfork are put away, but within reach...

there's no five year cycle in a roster anymore. if you have a 5 th yr player either it's because he's garbage or hurt a lot.

that being said year three is going to be a terrible year and it is not what we should grade him on assuming he doesn't fall apart completely.

the mood I'm in is going to depend mostly on how much he upgrades recruiting and the staff this year.

If CDM is unsuccessful at UF it will be because of a failure to effectively recruit. While there is no excuse for it and a lack of success is a lack of success and grounds for moving on, it will be very different (for me at least) than the other three you mentioned. The firing of Zook, Chimp, and Butters were all greeted with joy and optimism. I suspect I'd greet CDM's departure in this scenario with very mixed emotions.
