Do you believe it's a false rumor that he was on campus? If he was on campus, he's interested.

FSU won the NC just a short time ago. They play in a conference with Clemson and no one else, which could be attractive. It's not like FSU is NC State.
If he was ACTUALLY on campus he wasn't there for an interview. I'd say it would be a done deal. Coaches like him don't go on campus to "interview".

I think this will prove to be a lot of smoke and no fire.

Maybe you guys are right. But I think the FSU job is more attractive than we want to let on.

Lol, I remember when we got cdm, my friend told me willie was out recruiting us because he was younger, hipper and more urban . It's really laughable. Now they are going to a "crusty old white guy" also

It appears that last weekend may have been a total disaster on multiple levels for our Gators.

Assuming they land Bob Stoops, it's an example of a school doing everything it can to land their guy. Enormous buyouts or record contracts are not an obstacle. Get the program back where it needs to be, because football is the lifeblood of the athletic programs.

UF would never, ever, EVER do what FSU is doing. NEVER. Fooley and Stricklin are probably sitting back watching it unfold and having fainting spells.

Just when you thought you could pencil in a win over the Noles for the next few years. Our administration has made multiple sh!tty hires over the years. The clowns make one, and are committed to never repeat that again. Yeah our administration’s value the importance of football completely different. Sucks for us.

I was explaining this to the wife this morning. Every time the Gators needed a coach, Stoops was the first call and he said no. And that news, that he turned us down, was out immediately. FSU needs a coach, Stoops is at the top of the list, and there's a ton of smoke around him. Whether or not he ever coaches there, the fact that he hasn't said no is concerning. If he does coach there it's insulting.

I wouldn't disagree with that. Florida recruiting bed winnable conference, potential for big money when things go good. From a coaching aspect, it wouldn't be a bad gig.
And WiLLLLLLLie completely blew it

My thoughts exactly. Don't they normally go seek out the coach at his home?

Good point. But do they go to the guy's house when he's not actively coaching a college team? There would be no need for discretion.

I'm gonna laugh if it turns out it is Mike Stoops, and not Bob

I’m still inclined to believe even he is probably better than Mullen. Mullen’s lucky he’s not 0-2 against him, while he’s using Kentucky talent. He’s definitely not close the Bob, but Mullen ain’t either.

Perhaps you should let them actually make a hire first? :dunno:

Blew it? He's the happiest man in America right now, and I don't blame him. Probably woke up this morning with a huge smile and without a care in the world.

The only sign that should be in the AD's office is: FOOTBALL PAYS THE FREIGHT. I once said that to a local radio guy when they let Chump go and was met the company line b/c they were all sniffing the A$$ of Fooley and had bought into the mantra that the rock, paper, scissors team was of the utmost importance.

Why FSU? They won the NC just a short time ago. They play in a conference with Clemson and no one else, which could be attractive. Their facilities blow ours out of the water. It's obviously a recruiting-rich area. Oh yeah, and NO state income tax.

It's not like FSU is NC State.

IF he was interested. IF he was on campus. IF Florida State had the funds. IF any of these typically spectacular coaching rumors could be believed.

Until then, he was on a layover before heading to Gainesville to meet with Fuchs.
