Alcy didn’t say the frat house incident played a part in the firing..,he said it was the reason for the firing. Again, sober up, use reading comprehension skills and don’t attribute comments to me I didn’t make.
Ron Zook was fired because he sucked as a coach, got beat by teams he had no business losing to, because it was well known early on that he wasn’t the guy to bring us titles, because Bernie wanted Urbs, because there was noise in the system, because he ran to the wrong sideline before kickoff of the Florida/Georgia game, because he challenged some frat boys to a fight, and I’m sure there are other reasons, too. The fact that I didn’t mention every reason the first time doesn’t mean that he wasn’t fired for being a shiitie coach. What I can say with certainty is the frat house incident wasn’t the only reason he was fired as the alcoholic claimed and wasn’t even the main reason he was sacked.

He’d be like Larry Coker. Both took over for a legend. Both failed. And yes, willie will always be a legend to me. What he did for the FSU football program is the greatest thing I’ve ever seen.

I guess the point about me leaving out a host of other reasons for his firing went right over your head. Nonetheless, the fact remains that the sole reason for Zook’s firing wasn’t because of the frat house/off the field stuff as the drunk claimed. And Foley & the boosters sure as hell weren’t tempted to keep Zook had the frat incident not occurred, again a claim made by the alcoholica. Maybe when you sleep off the stupidity, you’ll figure it out.

Yeah but don’t tell alcoholica that. It will crush his narrative that Zook got fired for off field issues and that if Zook hadn’t gotten into the frat house incident, Foley & Co. likely would have retained him, losses to MSU and other half azzed programs be damned.

no it didnt, because you only admitted it AFTER this discussion started. when it was first brought up you were instantly offended by the implication that anything other than wins/losses played a roll in his dismissal. And you're still triggered about it, hurling silly insults right and left.

Except for the fact that alcoholic was the one who first broached the reason why Zook was fired, said it was for the frat house fight/off field issues and also said that had the frat fight not occurred, Zook would most likely have been retained. But yeah, if reading comprehension troubles and making stuff up works for you, by all means, roll with it.

If he was undefeated at the time and contending for the BCS Championship, maybe the administration gives him a stern talking to, a slap on the hand and say “Don’t do that shyt again, you’re a grown ass man.”

I’m all for a good thread hijacking, but this little pissing contest is ruining one of the great threads in GCMB history.
This year we get a whole extra week to focus our hatred on FSU...while they are in shambles.

Finally finished 247's "On The Bench" podcast with Newberg. Here is his rundown on the coaching search,
1. They can get Haggins or Stoops anytime they want if they make the hire before the season is over.
2. If no announcement is made until after the season, it means they are making a a run at a coach they know they can;t get right now.
3. Matt Campbell - According to the people he has talked to, Campbell has turned down better jobs than fsu. It is unlikely he leaves right now.
4. James Franklin's name keeps being brought up. Newberg thinks it is unlikely. If he leaves Penn St., it is for USC.
5. Matt Rhule's name was brought up. Seems to like it at Baylor. Has an enormous buyout.
6. PJ Fleck's name was brought up, but viewed as unlikely due to him signing a new contract as soon as the fsu job opened up. Plus, he is viewed as a Mike Leach type that is scaring people off.
7. Mike Norvell's name was talked about. All Newberg would say is that he didn't want to get sued. There are serious issues in his background that scare the shyte out of people.
In his opinion, right now, it is Mark Stoops or Odell Haggins as the next head coach.
