It all depends on who does what above us in the rankings. We've held steady as the top ranked 2-loss team the last few weeks, so it's safe to assume we'll jump either Oregon or Utah once one of them lose in the Pac-12 title game and we'll jump whichever one of Oklahoma or Baylor lose the Big 12 title game. There's also a good chance Penn St. and Minnesota will lose again, as well. So we'll have a high enough ranking to get into a NY6 bowl.

The only way we'll get in the Orange Bowl is if Bama loses to Auburn and the committee thinks we deserve the Orange Bowl more than Bama. If by some miracle the SEC were to get three teams in the playoffs, meaning UGA beat LSU, Bama beat Auburn, and chaos reigned everywhere else, we'd be in the Sugar Bowl. But seeing how none of that is really plausible, we'll more than likely be in the Cotton Bowl against the highest ranked G5 team.

So based on how all of their late season/championship games shake out, that puts our options at Memphis, Cincy, Boise St., and a long shot at App St. or SMU.
They should decline the invite. It’s effing embarrassing.

UCF is 7-3 with winnable games @Tulane and home vs USF. If they close out 10-3 maybe we get a bowl game in Florida against them to finally shut them up. Now, I'm not asking for this, I'm just seeing an outside chance of us getting a ****ty bowl and someone trying to match us up.

I wouldn't mind killing MICH again. Wouldn't enjoy another matchup, but beating them is always good. Other B10 matchups I'd like are Wisc or PSU. I don't see any viable ACC or P12 candidates to matchup with given the bowl affilitations. B12? I'd could see them moving up a 3 loss TX-OSU- IowaSt into a matchup with us, though I doubt we'd see Baylor; again I'm not seeing a B12 matchup. A G5 game would suck. No value, demotivating, creating opportunity for dont-cares by the players.

Right now UCF is either going to be in the Frisco Bowl or the Gasparilla Bowl. If people think playing in the Cotton Bowl is bad, I wonder what they'd thinking about playing in the Trop?

Edit: It appears as if the Gasparilla Bowl is no longer played at the Trop, they've moved it to Raymond James Stadium. So carry on!

Oh, I have no doubt they are headed for a crap bowl, and it would be putting us way, way below a deserved tier of bowl game. I just know the matchup, with an all-Florida fanbase to sell tickets, would have some attraction value for the bowl makers. Like I said, not something I'm looking for or hoping for.

We have kind of painted ourselves into a corner with the 2 losses. Either another year of playing Michigan, or a G5 team, which I agree is a lose-lose situation. Sas' Orange scenario seems like the best choice possible. If we think we're sort of "mehh" about the bowl season, imagine Alabama fans. They'll have been spanked by Lsu, lost the Iron Bowl, won't be in the playoff for the first time since its inception and are finishing the year with a backup instead of Tua. If it's about filling seats and overall intrigue, I have to think we're a better option than them.

Im curious, what does the 4th team in the SEC "deserve"? It has never been a good bowl game for the 4th team in the SEC.

If we end up in the Citrus Bowl against a Big 10 team, we should fire Strickland.

We need to burn those fvkking contracts with SEC and Big 10 every damn year. It was cute in the 90s. So over that shyt.

Well you’re right about that. Truth be told all the conferences and major bowls need to revisit the tie-in contracts. I just heard Feinstein on the radio saying that if Clemson makes the playoffs the Orange Bowl will be bound by contract to take the next highest ACC team, which will have at least 3 and maybe 4 losses, which is pathetic. That team may not even be ranked in the Top 25. Don’t get me wrong...I’m glad to see the ACC in shambles. I just wish they weren’t rewarded with a invite to such a traditionally strong bowl. Who wants to watch that crap?

If Clemson goes CFP and no other acc team is ranked, the orange bowl directors choose whichever bowl eligible acc team they desire. Any team they choose will have three or more losses. FSU is bowl eligible. They might lose to us and still go to a better bowl.
