Crap. I remember Jim Kiick and Larry Csonka running roughshod over everybody on the other side of the line. They were both bull bruisers that DBs would just bounce off of. It was thing to behold that will live for the ages. Thanks for the memories Jim!

I was never a fins fan, but did always kinda like Kiick. After seeing this on his Wikipedia page from his college days at Wyoming, I now like him a little more:
“As a junior, he was named the Most Valuable Player in the 1966 Sun Bowl win over Florida State, rushing 25 times for 135 yards and two touchdowns, and catching four passes for 42 yards.”

. Classic SI cover highlighted by Csonka's middle finger salute on his shin. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid of the NFL. I played basketball with and against Kiick in a YMCA league in Fort Lauderdale in 81-82. Similar to his football days he was a hard ass competitor who always played to win. But after the games win or lose he gave you respect and acknowledged good play. RIP "Butch"

Kiick was a tough competitor. He and Csonka could pound it. Then when they had the defense rocking on its heels Mercury Morris with speed and finesse would come in and drain the rest of the energy out of a worn down opponent.

That undefeated 17 - 0 ‘72 Dolphins team was a well oiled machine which dissected the opposition with surgical precision.
