I watched Penix play in HS, he was always up for the challenge and seemed to apply his best effort when a gap showed up. He was known to fill the hole almost as well as a Strong Side Backer.
I was surprised that Indiana was able to pry him out of his comfort zone but maybe they were the only one's who really appreciated what he laid on the table.

This is the ultimate sports bar. Feel free to talk about Penix all you want. No one should ever judge you or anyone else who wishes to discuss Penix. He's the real deal.

Thank you! While I have not personally been obsessed with Penix, I do think that Penix deserves more appreciation in this day and age. We've gotten soft as a culture and Penix is solid example for others to follow.

Alas, it wasn’t meant to be, so he will have to save his best effort for another time when he’s allowed to roam free in the backfield.

At some point he's got to get out of the backfield if he wants production again.

I dunno, man, I think he does his best work lined up 3 yards deep, as opposed to under center. Seems like he’s able to make the appropriate reads and get into the correct play from that position.

Not only that, his hard count from that spot is a thing to behold. Plus, he’s a natural southpaw, and there aren’t many of those that stand out so naturally in this modern era of collegiate competition.

To get the most out of Penix, his coach, TA, should trim some of the other players from the shotgun formation, and align them differently. He would stand so much taller than the rest in the pocket, especially when he’s working with a 5 wide set.

I can’t help but think that someone should sign up for one of the Indiana message boards and link them to these threads that @Five-Star Finger has started.

They’d probably get as much of a rise out of them as Penix would.

Penix seems like a lightning rod, one who could rub guys the wrong way.

Butt, his teammates, really get up and go hard for Penix. As if it’s they’re experimenting, but only in college and just the tip of the full Penix experience.

however, I think they enjoy what Penix brings, and the guys would really bend over backwards for him.
