Purely emotionally, I like the Mike Miller choice. An NBA guy. A guy with height. Wonder what NBA friends be might sway to come.?
How do y'all think he would recruit for this SEC alma mater.?
Whatever coach we get, he needs to staff up with an eye towards areas of recruiting. Gotta Go Gators ... now !
He was Memphis' top recruiter when they pulled off a top class. He would be great here in that regard

Don't want Bennett at all. Not even in the top 200. 40-35 games are crap and what White strived to be

I usually like your posts, but…

Bennet won the ACC in his fifth year. He took a team with a losing record and in five years started winning the toughest conference in college basketball. He won that conference five out of nine years. He won a natty.

We would revere Mike White if he did that here. Comparing those two gets a well earned facepalm.

Disagree Lee. Cousin Eddie was lazy and a shyt recruiter. Bennett seeks out guys that he likes and there can't be an argument that he has developed players like Hunter, Jerome, Guy, Brogdon, etc. I don;t think he is a shyt recruiter at all. Sure the top 20 guys don't tend to go there, but Tony Bennett is the type of coach who in general can beat yours with his and in turn could beat his if given yours. Different tastes thats all.

I would argue that over time Bennett has been more of a thorn to UNC and Duke than Mike has been to UK. But that in and of itself does not make one better than the other. Just watch the teams play and tell me wwhose teams understand the game?
Mullen made some really good recruiting gets. Just overall he stayed toward the bottom and got guys he liked and thought he could mold. Bennett is the exact same thing in basketball

The coach choice I'd be most confident about would be Pitino.?? He's done it all very well.

How many SEC champ did Mullen win. How many times did he beat Bama or any team in the top 10? How many BC playoff games did he win? There is NO comparing the two. Come up with another reason to dislike Bennett...this is not a good one at all. BTW, don't worry about us hiring him anyway...he ain't leaving UVA for us. Their fan base actually knows a good thing when they have it.

There is at a recruiting level. The difference is, you can do it in basketball better than in football

Had Bennett been coaching UF this year, we'd have finished either 2nd or 3rd and be no less than a 6 seed. Your missing the point. Part of the recruiting for White is we are UF. If Bennett were at UF he'd recruit far better. As I pointed out earlier the academic strain on recruiting at Uva is far greater.

Bennett provided some additional context regarding Gardner's academic status and the role it will play in his future, as not all of Gardner's class credits transferred to UVA from his three years as a student at East Carolina, so he will need an additional year at Virginia in order to complete his degree.

"In coming to UVA, it's hard to get credits to transfer," Bennett said. "Armaan [Franklin] and Jayden had to take 12 credits in the summer to get eligible because the school protects its degree at UVA, so you don't get as many transfer credits... it'll take them an extra year to get a degree. So, though he came in as a senior, he's going to need to be here for another year to get his degree."

You think any of MW's transfers were faced with this? I don't know if they were or not but I wouldn't think so.

From a untrained eye. To me Mike White biggest downfall at Fl besides being average was his inability to develop players.
From day one he got some pretty good players on board but they never seemed to get better or even regressed in some cases.

But…Pat Dooley just said on his Friday podcast that that there was no way he was leaving??
Today he said that it really don’t matter about MW going to Ga. Because they aren’t really a rival in basketball.
Second hand imfo. Ox I swear I didn’t listen to podcast.

Mike Miller may be decent. I have to imagine he is not the same kid that played at Florida in 2000.

I remember him walking around campus with one sweatpants leg pulled up well over one knee and the other down around his ankles.

That was cool thing to do back in 2000, but I thought it looked kinda stupid.

AG may be an excellent tactician and a great person, but he's got a reserved personality that I don't think plays very well on the court. Not a great motivator. Not enough emotion on the sidelines to make a difference in games.

Hopefully MW takes that worthless dwag lover on the team with him. Or the next guy sends him packing.

And im sorry but count me out on mike miller. What specific traits or qualities does he have that would make him a good coach for Florida? The dude looks like he never met a jail house tat he didnt like and talks and acts pretty ghetto as well. Is that what we are after? I swear some of yall would call for Hitler if he ever donned the orange and blue at some point.

Some of us don’t follow the nba and haven’t seen a pic of Miller in over 10 years. Would love to have a Gator legacy who has the coaching skills to be great, but your description gives me reason for doubt.

I'm less interested in the track record of our next coach than I am that they will be more reflective of who our student body is. The new coach should have diversified sexual preferences and perversions and should be increasingly Asian. It was obvious Mike White didn't have the qualities we should all be seeking in a head coach, right down to his last name.
