Great plan until the team has five losses because you kicked the best players off. Some other school will take them, like the school out west.
First School Up North is a Suckeye thing. We arent Suckeyes.

Second, Clown Town doesnt want our players. Maybe FIU, the School Down South that was our primary recruitimg rival for the past few years.

Just want to remind everyone that "weed" is illegal in all 50 states and the territory of Puerto Rico. Of course if I were in charge of the Federal enforcement agency, I would simply confiscate all monies associated with "decriminalized" schedule 1 drug every 3 days or so, including all cash, bank accounts and assets purchase with such illegal gain.

Cmon guys. Weed has been portrayed as “cool” by musicians and celebrities for over 40 years. This isn’t anything new. The kid is a dumbass and he’ll pay the price for his lack of work ethic and common sense...as he should.

I’ve been making :bandit: cool since HS (36+ years) and counting.

How about instead of your solution if they don't pass the drug test their scolly is voided and they can't stay in school. If you can't avoid a drug you surely are not dedicated or involved enough to be a success at much of anything.

I'm ok with that as long as it's applied evenly across the board. You can't boot an athlete--whose physical ability has earned him an education--while allowing the pre-med or engineering students to light up whenever they want because they're not tested.

My original point is I think we've become too emotionally involved in the lives of these kids. If they're out committing real crimes, then address it. But expecting them to stop something they've grow up around is foolish. It simply isn't going to happen and he's just the latest example. So we may as well accept it and move on, or essentially forget athletics and lobby to become an Ivy League school(though I still think half of our Secondary and OL would be in over their heads).

If AC or anyone else wants to smoke weed in their dorm, I really don't see the issue with it. I don't agree or disagree with it any more than I do their getting littered with tattoos and having multiple kids by Sophomore year. But clearly we can't prevent it, so we should stop stressing over it.

I'd also say this, I think we put way too much stock in what these players elect to do after UF. It really shouldn't matter. If AC decided he simply didn't want to pursue the NFL, does that make him an idiot? He's telling the world what is most important to him, just as much as the kids who keep their heads down and focus on making it to the league. Who are we to say he has to use his talents to make millions? Again, I think we're too involved and are ramming our collective heads into a brick wall.

Exactly. "Legalizing" marijauana is about as legal as "legalizing" lead paint or racial discrimination. No state can "legalize" something which is illegal under federal law.

Don’t drag the military into this. It never has been and never will be the military’s job to fix society’s issues. The military is here to kill America's enemies and win our wars. If something doesn’t make the military more combat effective, it shouldn’t be done.

He smoked marijuana while fully knowing the risks. He violated the rules at UF and the NFL, which cost him an education and possibly an NFL career. That speaks highly of his character. This isn't about the politics of whether an individual should be granted certain rights; it's about the quality of character and discipline required to maintain such values. AC clearly put his own interests before his team, and that says something of his character.

Callaway's problems don't just center around smoking pot. Everybody has smoked pot at some point, like drinking beer, wine, booze. Not everybody on the whole damn team makes a fool out of their own University and brings embarrassment upon themselves, their family and their alma mater because they aren't TOTALLY STUPID. Callaway is just too stupid to have the talents he has. Either he doesn't realize it or thinks he's just looking thru a window at all the sh!tstorms he creates. Callaway will get what he deserves in the NFL just like he did at Florida. An attempt at a helping hand, and when he bites it, a quick dismissal.

Calloway is a world class, blow-your-own-balls-off dumbass of humongous proportions. Can anybody remember any time during his wasted scholly here when this dipsh!t wasn't in trouble? Calloway is radioactive, a jail cell waiting to happen. No NFL scout should give him a serious look he will never escape being his own worst enemy - just a giant wad of fukkup.
could have saved some bandwidth and simply said he was a "Mac special."

No, Mac Special could cover all kinds of things that are not related to Callaway's problems. Mac is his own special brand of idiot that makes him the worst coach that UF ever had. Or maybe any SEC team ever had.

As a lawyer, don't you think it should be up to each individual state to decide? Asking for a friend. LOL.

As a lawyer, federal law is the supreme law of the land.

Ha! A conversation for another day. Never asked if you went to Levin or somewhere else down here?

Ha. Gotcha. I have a few friends that went to Levin and are not PI's. One was at Grey Robinson for a while...just made Judge. Another is now with DLA Piper.

Agree. I find it hilarious that in one breath some will routinely bash the players who fail drug tests, rail against them for letting their team down, lament about the embarrassment to the University and money that was foolishly lost because of smoking weed...and in the next talk about how excited they are to hear Snoop is going to be at Gator Growl.

We've confused these young men to the point that I'm not even sure they ever had a chance.

So it’s our fault???
