Clemson is expecting a commitment from a 3-star RB from Georgia, Kobe Pryor.

Kobe Pryor, Cedartown, Running Back

Clemson also signed two backs last cycle, three-star Mikey Dukes and four-star Chez Mellusi. Both Dukes and Mellusi arrive on campus next month as true freshmen. This could be something that could cause Bowman to look at UF again:
I bet there’s a Clemson version of @Swamp Donkey out there that’s freaking the **** out about Clemson’s RB recruiting. I can hear it now... “remember when guys like CJ Spiller were begging to be here? Now we’re taking multiple 3 stars and will probably lose Bowman to someone! If only our recruiting staff was twice the size of Bama and UGA’s combined, we’d be killing it!”

You're right. We don't cheat. We're the cleanest program in the country....

:britney:
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we were the cleanest program in the country or among the cleanest. I had several friends that were tight with some of players from the meyer era. Guys like Jarvis moss and Deshaun Wynn never acted like they had money or were getting paid. I don't think it's this forgone conclusion that you might think it is. I think some programs are cheating and I think some are not.

Pryor’s from the same HS as Nick Chubb and a couple other former NFLers. Not bad for a thousand kid school in the middle of nowhere.

We could use both of those guys in the class. Not sure why we'd turn down a commitment from either of those players - we have zero OL's committed and we need 4, we have one CB from Texas (who could easily bail/de-commit, which is common for these early out of state kids)....and we just lost Steele.
I guess we are going after higher rated people in their positions. Higher rated according to the coaches evaluation.

Honestly most players do just fine. I met one of Hernandez's GF's through an acquaintance. He showed up with bags of food most nights. Literally bags, sushi, prime rib, whatever they wanted from the players' cafeteria. The off campus living arrangement nets them a few hundred bucks a month or more if they do it right. Floyd's story showed that they still get to keep a Pell Grant. So you get all the food you and your friends want to eat, room and board and pocket what's left, any pell grant money, and the $100 handshakes that happen everywhere. Not to mention the stuff we don't know, plus they get a stipend now. How many on here would love that arrangement in college?

Lies... I heard former tinerc players a few years ago arguing in favor of the stipend because they were starving in college.

Clemson is expected to get another 5-star commit this weekend from a SDE:

Myles Murphy, Hillgrove, Strong-Side Defensive End

And they are favored to land the top SDE (another 5-star): Jordan Burch, Hammond School, Strong-Side Defensive End

Again, this could work in our favor with Jalon Carter and Tim Smith (if we could get one of these two our DT/SDE class is pretty solid).

Clemson's class is going to be sick.

Hoping Clemson and uga fill up fast appears to be our best recruiting strategy

. I remember SOS commenting back in the day about all the nice cars in the UF players parking lot during the Tank Black affair.
And we suspended them as soon as the pulled up in a new car.

Ritledge, Big Fred, and Kearse? I forget who now.

And honestly, at this point, it's a great strategy. Clemson is going to sign the top 3 DT's and the top 2 SDE's. WTF?!?!

Unless we're only taking 2 or 3 OL's I'm not sure why they'd turn down any OL that wants to commit. We probably sign no blue-chip OL's in this class, which is pathetic. And Pouncey is supposedly near the top of the CB board. I don't get that one.

And then Uga, Bammer, Crackumbus, LSU, aTm, Barn and maybe Arky fill up too?

We like to fully encourage the players we like to look around first before committing. Make sure they see all these others places facilities and how much better they have it

Its a solid idea.

Then we can try to flip them bc we win those battles at least 2% maybe 5% of the time.

I remember last year we were landing FSUs safeties, LSUs DTs, and Ugly's ILBs on BBQ Day.... then June... then Secret Commit Day in Dec.

Think just Rutledge and Kearse, and they may still be prohibited from campus, not sure.

Fred invested money with Black, lost it and sued him if I remember correctly

Im not clear on how this is supposed to be aimed at me.

Im pretty sure Ive never complained about the size of linemen of OL, at least not since the 250 pounder days over a decade ago.

It doesnt seem to support that 190-210lb "Defensive Linemen" (actually undersized Linebackers) are a good move.

My not so bold prediction is that not a single damn one of them will ever get up to even WDE size (270-280 pounds). There is a reason no one else wants these kids or only wants them as a project grayshirt (Bogle).

I wasn't aiming it at you, but we (you, me, and a few others) often comment about the size of these kids. Mostly "edge" guys, OLB, or LB. Just found it interesting that many of them were significantly undersized in HS. Now, if you have a Butters S&C program that's a HUGE problem...but if you have a real S&C program it's probably not.

I don't have a problem with an edge rusher or two. Maybe even one per class.

I have a problem with 10-12 of them and no actual DL.

There is a reason Clemson and Bammer dont recruit like this.

I agree, and it's a huge problem. I don't know WTF they are doing down there.

The staff did this the last two years, they passed on Culpepper in 18 and Dorlus in 19. Now we have 1 heavy DL in two classes. It's a disaster. Any DL that's over 250lbs that says they want to come should be given the red carpet treatment! Even if he's ranked lower than Ancrum!
