Possibly. Internet was DARPA so wouldn’t need it then. Transistor? Not familiar with its origin so yeah - something supporting an FSU claim or detailing a different origin would be helpful. Basic philosophy of mine: question everything, especially claims on GC.
Here's a clue: if it's a FSU claim, it's BS.

Just respecting that Native American tradition like we are told they are so big on.
In this spirit, whenever I hear a Null make the claim, I immediately turn the conversation to the racist nature of calling an energy drink "Seminole Firewater." Staggers 'em every time.

I had just moved to Gainesville for the very beginning of the Spurrier era, so all ever knew about UGA was that we crushed them every year. It was FSU that was the big, hated rival that we had a tough time with every season. Hence, FSU is the biggest rival to me and it isn't close. I get more satisfaction watching them lose than every other team combined.

This has probably been covered but I'm not reading 110 plus pages.

Georgia will always be the number 1 most hated to older Gators and younger Gators need to be educated.

1) Eastern Division conference game.
2) Beat us twice during the Spurrier player years to keep us from winning our first conference championship. That's why Spurrier hates them so much.

3) And the NUMBER 1 reason was that in 1942 after Japan bombed Pearl Harbor Georgia coach Wally Butts signed all his players up for ROTC so they wouldn't get drafted. Our scholarship players went off to war and we played Georgia with walk-on. They ran the score up to a 75-0 victory even having their center kick extra points at the end.

Screw Georgia!

Let's not forget the decline in the number of Georgia fans and the sudden rise among FSU fans after the 1987 season. Florida began to feel the effects of the reduction in scholarships along with a 2 year ban from live TV, which is why FSU killed us in recruiting for so many years. When Georgia and Vince Dooley started circling the drain, the Georgia fans became FSU fans. To me, a majority of today's FSU fans are still closet Georgia fans.

I did a little research on this (very little actually) and discovered that prior to FSU or UF working on a dehydration drink, Rutgers had produced one they were using. Not much of the science behind this was new. The FSU team Dr. (R.A. Johnson) by the way was a UF grad.

EDIT: just noticed TLB beat me to the punch about the good Dr. Johnson
Johnson Juice?

Just try firing one of Jimmy Sexton’s coaches for questionable “just cause” and see what happens if you don’t reach a reasonable compromise on the buyout. You will never touch one of Jimmy’s clients again as long as he is alive and probably not any other agency’s coaches either. Jimmy is a shrewd operator and about a million times smarter than the Jeremy Foley ticket sellers of the college football world.
These schools need to stop being afraid of these slimy agents. Jimmy Sexton can go **** himself. These contracts are out of control.

As for firing willie "for cause", not properly hydrating players is what you fall back on. It's a safety issue that could get players killed.

Can we also accuse them of inventing climate change?

Well, they say cow dung is a contributing factor to climate change so certainly that horse-shiaat product they put on the field and try to pass off as football would be a cause, too. So hell yes, Nole “football” is a leading cause of climate change!

Hydrate my ass.... Didn't some F$U homers try to claim Gatorade as their own a few years back?
They also changed their founding date from 1857 to 1851 about 20 years ago so they could claim to be older than UF. Their president, who made the change, stated 1851 seemed more accurate. For everyone’s information UF founding date is 1853, kind of convenient that they went from 1857 to 1851. They are and always will be a joke.

And never forget the maxim:

No one ever got into UF but not F$U. No one. Ever.
