What separates Trask from Franks

Same with Winston: no one in college football outside the clowns liked the guy

As someone who grew up in trashahassee, I can tell you a lot of my clown friends didn’t care for him on a personal level. He was embarrassing to say the least. They certainly didn’t mind the natty though.

Honest opinion I think Frank's won the job last year because he gave us the best chance to win based on our personal around the Qb position. I think Mullen stuck with him this year because of experience.

We are built this year for a pass heavy offense but he's stubborn and wants to run his style of offense so he trotted out Frank's and we looked like crap until he got injured.

Whether he wants to admit it or not (which he's already denied it) the offense is completely different under Trask. It looks more fluid, it resembles a real offense and not a gimmick bubble screen heavy style of play.

I'm convinced Trask and this style of offense gives us the best chance to win right now. Next year is a different story though because we lose some of our weapons at Wr so next year Emory running Mullen's style of offense will probably suit us better. But this year Trask slinging it around and letting our Wrs run routes gives us the best shot at winning.

I think Franks may be the most unpopular starting QB in the history of our program. Hate to see anybody get hurt like he did, but we would have lost the Kentucky game if Trask would not have taken over when he did. I think Franks has much more natural athletic ability than Trask, but Trask is more mature, has the mental part of the game down much better and overall is just much more likable than Franks. I do think we should wait and see how Trask does in October before casting out Heisman votes.

Kapernick has much more natural athletic ability than say..........Montana. But that won't get you far if you don't have any processing speed.

So I was curious recently about next year, both Franks and Trask are RS Juniors. Do we expect them both back next year? Will Franks perhaps decide to pursue his baseball career? I’d love to hear from anybody who may have any insight about this moving forward...

I think we know more at the end of this season. If Trask does good and EJ continues to advance then I think Franks is done.

Franks will start next year. Trask will play himself into a second round pick.

Although personally I would like to see EJ take the reins next year. But not until the start of the year.

We need the depth with Franks.

One threw to a receiver after he saw them open ... the other throws to a receiver as they are coming open.

Yeah, I don't know about that. I referenced the Dean/Wuerffel situation elsewhere, and I think that's fitting here. Dean was a Sr, so he was gone. But there's no doubt in my mind that he was never getting that job back even if he had more eligibility. If Trask continues to play at this level, I can't imagine a scenario where he loses his job at the end of the season in favor of someone who--pre-injury--seemed to be hitting his ceiling and almost doing as much harm as good. To me, that would just be a disaster for Mullen to try to defend.

And that'snot even accounting for Jones and AR's progression by then. I think gatormandan is correct. I doubt we ever see FF in O&B again.

QB situation is going to be really interesting to watch if Trask keeps this up. But there is a long season ahead and let’s see how he handles the next 4 games...and if he can survive behind this line. Either way I am perfectly content if I never see Franks start another game here. I’m ready for more Trask and EJ until AR is ready
