I have seen him play. What point are you making?
It is in response to lack of skilled players. We have skilled safeties, Dean and Davis. We have plenty of skilled corners, too, including Elam, Hill and Kimbrough.

True these kids could be good players. But we won't find out until our coaches put them in . Dean and Burney are in the Star to provide some size to fend off blockers, and in theory enough skill and speed to keep up with receivers. They are not able to handle the job against teams like UGA. We have a key position on our defense without the talent to play it. The problem in my view goes back to recruiting or the lack of it in skilled positions. Our depth of skilled game ready players at LB and Safety positions is minimal at best. When we use a position like the Star without the kids to play it well we get exposed. Or maybe we have the talent but the coaches are afraid to take a chance with some of the younger kids. Either way we have a problem.

One has to wonder if we would be undefeated if Chauncey had stayed.
Probably not. There are still to many issues for just him to solve in other areas. Instead of going toward him they would just find the Stiner's of the world to pick on. LSU would have still torched us the way they did. The UGA game is possible, but a lot of that is just thinking about had Chauncey been there on the 20 missed tackles by Dean it would have changed the outcome or in coverage on that final 3rd down it would have been different. We still had Marco miss another 20 tackles as well and blown coverage by other guys in both losses. That being said i do miss the leadership he provided back there.

Trey appeared to be benched Saturday. We saw lots of the freshmen getting reps in the 1st half.
I don't think Trey played a down on D until the 4th quarter.
