the interesting wrinkle to me is that I assume Clemson is on the CFP after easily beating Virginia. Virginia is currently the next highest ranked ACC team, so they would go to the Orange. But everywhere I read about the ACC tie-Ins to the orange bowl mention the highest RANKED ACC team (per CFP rankings). If Clemson beats #23 Virginia so badly that they drop out of the rankings, there will be no ranked ACC team besides Clemson. Does that open the door for the Orange Bowl to select a ranked non-ACC team? I don’t know if that’s addressed in the contract. But it does make me wonder.

I posted a tweet earlier in the thread, but if UVA fell out of the rankings, the Orange Bowl would choose from UVA/VT/Wake. In that scenario, I'd say VT would get the nod for the traveling fanbase.

Having said that, I think the committee will keep UVA at like #25 to avoid that situation and reward them for making the ACCCG.

I wouldn't mind beating the piss out of that garbage coach at VT. Much more interesting blowout than UVa.

Have you ever lived among either of them? Tech people are all pretty cool. They love their school, but don’t think everyone else should. And I have never met one who couldn’t laugh at themselves. It’s a very chill group.
Most UVa types are insufferable arrogant pricks. They believe the world revolves around Charlottesville. I’ll give you a few examples of their jerkdom:
It’s not “a campus;” it’s “the grounds.”
The alums and students all refer to the school as “The University.”
Fraternities are never called “frats.” (“You don’t call your country a ****, so you don’t call your Fraternity a ‘frat.’”)
I absolutely loathe them and would thoroughly enjoy CDM and the boys stomping a mud hole in them. I’d watch a blowout of UVa to the final whistle.

UVA is suck a shyt football team that I'm not even interested in destroying them.

I find it hard to think of a single thing I like about Virginia Tech football other than the fact they've never won a national championship.

Agreed. Tech folks are ok. And Blacksburg in some ways reminds me of Gainesville. Great game day atmosphere. F UVA.

I have an aunt that went to VT and her husband is a doctorate researcher at WF so I say UVA would be nice to beat...having us against some second tier team is great for 11 wins but with Perkins being so mobile that’s a little worrisome tbqh

UVA would give us a game boys, on offense they are for real. You can hate the University all you want and I would agree with most of your analogy about the alumni but the football team is a little better than you're giving them credit. I think we would win the game but just remember the hung 39 on Techs defense with Bud Foster. Perkins alone had over 400 yds of offense. I do think Kyle would pick them apart in the secondary. Tech would be a beat down, there offense couldn't hold up unless we have some "going to league" attitudes show up and decided to mail it in.

Pump the brakes on Fosters D his team got annihilated in a couple games this season...and I stated that Perkins was for real the only thing is we would pass all over them

Pump the breaks? They shut out WF who was hanging 30 on everyone in the acc. Yes we would pass all over UVA, if we could convince DM to throw deep. Their safeties are burnt toast. All of our WR are better than any single WR they have seen all year and Kyle is freaking Tom Brady compared to any other QB. They hung with ND for most of the game.
