2 Game Winning TDs: Luck?

It seems to be a popular notion that we were lucky with our game winners because the opposing D Coordinator just had a brain fart. Not so sure about that.

Heave to Cleve
Our goal: Throw a long enough side-line pass to get within Eddy’s range
The D: Defend the intermediate pass.
What happened: Cleve bust loose hand-waving and Franks changed the play

Wide open Swain
Our goal: Run Malik Davis for a TD
The D: Stack the box because they’ve had success running Davis
What happened: LDR saw wide-open Freddie hand-waving and changed the play

In both cases, the opposing D actually lined up to defend our intended play call. In both cases the flow of the game led to opposing defenses’ alignments. Luck was just a tiny part of that.

For the dozenth time or so, Franks didn't change the play last week. He ran the play that was called, made the read based on the defense, and dropped a dime 70 yards away for the win.

LDR changed the play last night, and Franks did the same on the first TD to Cleveland. Luck or not, we exploited the other team's mistakes. I'll never apologize for that. Enough teams have exploited our mistakes the last 8 years. It's just how football works. In 2014, Tevin Westbrook probably cost us two wins because he couldn't catch a football. You think LSU or FSU are sheepish about claiming those victories? Hell no!

I agree, it's not sustainable IMO.

Kentucky did what Kentucky does when they face us...sh*t the bed. We were lucky to have them be dumb enough not to cover a wideout TWICE. I'm just glad we were able to capitalize and make the throws and catches.
We won't be so lucky moving forward, so we still need to fix this broken offense,

I'll be more direct...do you think with the way the team is playing overall right now that we are headed for a big year? Tenn and UK are not good teams. Mich prison raped us. And I don't think they are very good either. So, simple question...do you think we keep winning playing the way the team is playing?

We can beat Vandy and Ogre. A&M and UGA will run us out of the stadium. Split the two road games and beat UAB in November. Head into the FSU game 6-5, the way they are playing, we both could be fighting to be bowl eligible.

When Kentucky decided twice in critical situations not to cover a receiver, it was SHEER OFFENSIVE BRILLIANCE that we threw the ball there. Zero luck involved. Happens dozens of times in every game.

Tight end who dropped the game winning TD against LSU and a goal line pass against FSU that was picked and returned for a TD, completely changing the game. Imagine a guy who cast his hands in cinder blocks trying to catch a football.

What makes you so certain that was the intended pass? It's obvious it wasn't intended to be that many seconds into the play.
